The war to the east between the Empire of Ket and Peddeshar's homeland of Thurion is continuing at a slower pace. Thurion has enlisted allies to attack Ket from an unexpected direction, buying them time to counter Ket's improvements in battle magic.

Several farmsteads and small villas in northernmost Ellewyr have been raided by drow warriors. Baron Barojin, the local ruler, is said to be seeking heroes who can help him against this new menace.

A group of prominent merchants in Caernigan have filed a complaint against Lord Mayor Belgan. They claim that he is corrupt and in the pay of organized crime, and that he has violated several city laws while gathering support for the latest zoning ordinances. While claims like these are not uncommon, their complaint seems to have stirred up local politics.

The Sons of Pelor, an adventuring band passing through the area, claim to have found a set of ancient, dungeon-like tunnels far below the deepest sewers of Caernigan. Though they did not explore much, they found a wall covered in undecipherable runic writing.

The renowned adventuring mage Altesin has returned from an expedition to the south bringing strange beasts for study to the Naturalist's Guild. Witnesses report monstrous lizard-like creatures, including one so hot that a wooden crate burst into flame when the creature got too close.

The Prophet has vanished amidst much speculation as to what or who is responsible. Prior to his disappearance he had been preaching fiery sermons about the coming apocalypse and demise of 'evildoers'.

The city guard, with the backing of several mages, raided an abandoned warehouse in the River District. They fought several large spiders, including two that were reportedly even larger than draft horses.

A group of villages in the wilderness north of Caernigan have banded together in a mutual-defense pact in the face of increasingly frequent goblin raids. It is to be called Druna, and the druids in the area are said to have much influence with the new federation's leaders.

The unusually active drow activity in the area has come to an abrupt halt recently. Some suspect the drow are marshalling their forces for plans of conquest.

The Marauders of Ebonheart, an adventuring band, recently arrived in town aboard the Crestrider. They brought much treasure with them, claiming to have recovered it from a sunken city in the Westing Reach. One of the members, a powerful cleric, carries a dull black sickle that is said to be very powerful.

A barbarian shaman that was being hunted for his role in a battle in which several city guardsmen were slain has been found and destroyed by the city’s archmages.

The legendary thief, the Grey Masque, has struck again, this time in Kellmore. He has stolen the Heart of Maranmaar, one of the largest diamonds known to exist, from the heart of a heavily-guarded vault of the Eirontalar family. It is known that he is the thief because he always leaves a grey silk mask at the scene of his outrageous crimes.

The war between Thurion and the other empire to the east is winding down for the winter. No word of how the war is faring.

People in the city of Talisdale are panicky due to a string of midnight murders where the victim has been drained of blood. The city guard have been unable to catch the perpetrator, and everyone is whispering of an infestation of vampires.

Karlon Keep has rebuffed an assault by a horde of orcs. Security has been tightened due to a discovered half-orcish spy in the city that almost led to its fall.

White Plume Isle has been belching forth thick clouds of smoke again. It seems to do this about this time every year.

A mighty spell-battle was fought in the skies over the Free City of Tyrus last week. One of the combatants was unknown, but the other was recognized by his trademark purple and gold robes. Yond Salshemmyr, a resident archmage, disappeared during the spell-battle and has not been seen since.

An alliance of rogues and ne’er-do-wells is ready to move to depose the Artemel family. If this happens, Corlis will probably be plunged into armed warfare between factions battling for control of the city. Sandar Kathklan is rumored to be behind this plot.

Riding a wave of popularity and resentment towards a government that was seen as ineffectual against this menace, the group has seized control of the city’s government and is now the ruling power.

An adventuring party, The Brotherhood of the Blade, set out into the Fallen Lands a week ago to plunder some ruins they found a treasure map to. None have returned, though a patrol from Karlon Keep saw what appeared to be a spell-battle on the horizon.

The human mining village of Durvik's Pass in the Serpentcoil mountains has been having troubles lately. It seems almost everyone in town has come down with the burning plague, a rare disease that is usually not fatal. But in Durvik's Pass it has killed many miners and a lot of the wildlife in the surrounding area. The villagers say that demons have invaded their mine, driving out the miners and bringing the plague upon the land.

A druid named Belak was cast out of Tarrin's circle many years ago for performing terrible experiments on animals. He apparently fled to the south with a giant frog and passed through Oakhurst at some point.

There is a band of goblins near the town of Oakhurst in the Upper Valley. They have been around for years and inhabit some ruins near town called the Sunless Citadel. Every year they sell a piece of magical fruit to the people of Oakhurst that has powerful healing properties, and some years they also sell another piece of fruit that is deadly poison.

The outcast druid, Belak, is under the Sunless Citadel in the Twilight Grove, where he is served by goblins and creatures known as twig blights. He grows magical fruit on something called the Gulthias Tree.
