For fully ten thousand years the traitor legions of Chaos have been living in exile. Countless hordes of ancient warriors wait for the day that they are led once and for all on the the Imperial Palace to destroy the Emperor once and for all. Even the mighty High Lords of Terra fear the day when the damned Traitor Legion go forth and claim the Imperium for themselves. Yet most citizens know little of the terror of Chaos; and the few that do only recite tales and myths of a great war long ago, in which the Emperor sacrificed himself for humankind. Stories of great lumbering and bloodthirsty warriors are told to send troublesome children into slumber.
They lurk in the Eye of Terror, where pure Chaos mingles with reality. They are terrifyingly old, yet to many of them, the memory of the great battle in which Horus fell is a fresh memory. They are no longer Space Marines. They are now evil incarnate, the bane of the Imperium, and one day the traitor legions shall unite and claim what is rightfully theirs! Down with the Imperium!
