Telemachus is ferverantly hunted by the inquisition. He was once a chaplain serving in the Imperial Fists, and was respected and worshiped Rogal Dorn with proud zeal. It was at the battle of Fallen Hill, on the planet Cryo, that the Imperial Fist engaged forces of the Dark Eldar.
Telemachus led his bodyguard onto a squad near the rear of the Dark Eldar line. Telemachus had always been known for his wanton disregard for his own life, and gladly charged where even Space Marines feared to tread. He encountered a hooded figure who, when struck with Telemachus' Crozius, made no movement. Instead, this figure laughed and grabbed Telemachus' head.
After the figure lifted his hand from his head, Telemachus fell to the floor in a heap, and his bodyguard were killed to a man. Telemachus was reported as Dead in Action that night, his body not being recovered, much to the sadness of his fellow battle brothers. However, Telemachus was not dead, but had merely been touched by Chaos (literally!). The hooded figure he had seen was but one manifestation of N'Kari, the Lord of Change. This cruel and savage Daemon had been playing an evil game with him, and had finally won. Telemachus was now corrupted with the power of Chaos.
Only the psykers accompanying the Imperial Fists knew what had happened, as that night a series of visions plagued them all; that of a Lord of Change and Telemachus dancing round a massive pole on a plain of skulls, although words may never do justice to what they really saw. A reading of the Imperial Tarot was called, and it too revealed that Telemachus had betrayed his chapter. He had hungered for greater power, revealed his secret journals, but until very recently he had always sought to do this through worship of Rogal Dorn and the Emperor.
To this day, the Inquisition and the Imperial Fists hunt Telemachus. Yet Telemachus always cunningly evades them and teases them by letting them come very close to seizing him, and then simply vanishing or entrapping his would-be captors and laughing maniacally at them.
