Back at Miaka's room. She was naked on the bed with only a blanket covering her as her clothes were wet. Hotohori was glad when Miaka woke up. Hotohori: Miaka, you are all right now. We have saved you back. Miaka: Why am I here? I'm still alive. Why? She recalled that she was drowning & was shocked to know that she was still alive.

Miaka sat up so sudden that her blanket dropped. Hotohori, who was right in front of her, blushed & quickly looked away. Miaka then pulled the blanket up. Hotohori smiled at Miaka to ease the atmosphere. Hotohori: I'm relief to see that you are already so energetic.

Staring at Hotohori, Miaka remember that she heard Hotohori shouting for her before losing consciousness. The truth hit her that instant. Hotohori had dived into the sea to save her. Miaka spring forward & caught Hotohori by surprised. She cried, apologized to Hotohori for the stupid thing she had done.

After recovering from the surprise, he smoothened her hair & held her face gently in his palms. Hotohori: Everything is all over, Miaka. Don't cry. I'll always be by your side, looking after you for the whole life. Live with me forever? I'll protect you & let you feel safe. You'll never have to worry.

After professing his love for her, Hotohori hugged her. Hotohori: Let me take care of your problems. Forget about Tamahome, Miaka. Then, Hotohori kissed her.

Miaka was surprised but she did not resisted when Hotohori held her hands.

Hotohori: I'll always treat you like this & I also hope that I can have your love for me. Thinking of Tamahome, Miaka pushed Hotohori away.

Miaka: I'm...sorry... I'm still... Hotohori sat back on the chair beside the bed. Hotohori: Don't force yourself too hard. Take a good rest & think about it. I'll always be by your side. Go & have a good sleep.

As Hotohori held Miaka's hand, she felt that his hand was very warm. She thought, Hotohori really treats me very good. I can't find a way to tell him the truth, but if I don't tell him... Guess this way is better for him but I can't forget, that's no way that I can forget about Tamahome. So, Miaka dozed off thinking of Tamahome. (Poor Hotohori)
