What happens at the end of the millenium? Does the world as we know it end? Or does it just continue on? The movie is set during the days leading up to New Year's Eve 1999, and the end of the millenium. (Ok, so the millenium doesn't officially end until 2001, but I'm going to be partying down New Year's Eve 1999, regardless, so don't rain on my parade). The events of the movie center around Lenny "the Magic Man" Nero, who deals in the "wire", and the execution-style murder of Jeriko One, a rapper/activist who, among other things, called for a reordering of the LAPD. This movie is a great whodunit, as Lenny keeps recieving clues from the killer, and also trying to find out who keeps killing off everyone who has seen copies of the "clip" of the murder of Jeriko One. Here's a hint: it isn't the cops who killed Jeriko One in the first place. This movie not only has great, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat-and-falling-onto-the-floor action, but it also has a GREAT love story, and a major ass kickin' soundtrack. The visuals are great. And hey, it's the part of the the century. This movie is incredibly energetic, and well-worth buying. The party scenes are great, and the club where Lenny's ex-girlfriend, Faith, performs, The Retinal Fetish is one of the coolest I've seen. I give this movie three stars. I liked it enough to make a homepage about it. Twice, since the first one got wiped when my computer crashed.
