The "wire" as presented in the movie "Strange Days" is a kind of device in which memories are recorded and then played back. Like TV, only better. MUCH better. You not only see and hear the action, but you LIVE it. The wire plays an integral part in the plot of the movie. Lenny deals in "clips", which look like little CDs, that contain the recorded memories. Philo Gant uses the wire to spy on his girlfriend, and on the musicians who record for his label. The killer in the movie uses the wire to record his murders, and also to torture his victims by making them experience their own deaths from his point of view or by frying their brains. I've seen a similiar device in the book Mona Lisa Overdrive.
