If your Chrysler vehicle has a paint problem
here are some suggestions: 1) Contact
your local Chrysler Dealer Service Manager.
....Arrange for an
appointment so the Service Manager may see the vehicle.
....From this point get full
names, write down dates and all actions for your records.
....Most important is to
remain calm but also be firm. (Don't show any anger)
....When you meet with the
Service Manager show him your vehicle and explain
....to him that you are
aware that this is a defect and that many others have had
....their vehicles repaired
at Chrysler's expense. Also tell him when the vehicle
....first started to show
problems. He may say there is nothing he can do or may
....offer to pay a certain
percentage to have the whole or the affected areas re-
....paired. If you are not
happy with the offer ask him for the name and phone
....number of the Regional
Representative.
2) Contact Chrysler Corporation
....Call Chrysler
at 1-800-992-1997. Once again make sure
you get names and
....remain calm. Tell the
Chrysler Representative your problem and that you have
....already met with your
local Service Manager. Mention you are not happy with
....the offer and would like
to meet with the local Regional Rep. Make sure you
....get a reference or case
number from the Phone Rep, this number will follow
....you from this point.
3) Contact the Chrysler Regional
Representative
....The Phone Rep may or may
not have passed this information on to the Regional
....Rep. so make sure you
call yourself. Once again explain your problem and give
....the Rep. the Reference
Number Chrysler assigned to your case. Arrange for a
....meeting so the Rep. may
see the vehicle. Remember being calm but firm can be
....a key factor, showing
anger may worsen your chances for a good offer. You
....should be made an offer,
possibly a 50/50 split. If you don't like the offer tell
....him that you are not
happy with the offer. (If you own or have owned multiple
....Chrysler vehicles tell
him, also if you have referred people to Chrysler
vehicles
....let him know. This may
help you get a better offer.) If you are still not happy
....with the offer ask the
Rep for a business card and say "I'll keep in
contact".
4) Contact the Chrysler Regional
Representative again
....After a couple of days
of your meeting call the Regional Rep again. Tell him
....that you are happy with
your Chrysler vehicle except for the paint and you
....would appreciate it if
Chrysler would up their offer. If the offer still stands
or
....is not to your
satisfaction tell him that you will have to look into
other options
....and get back to them.
From this point you can fax or keep calling the Regional
....Rep. and give
explanations as to why Chrysler should pay to have your
vehicle
....repaired. (tire him out)
or tell him that you have no other options but to take
....Chrysler to court. (Only
mention this if you really plan on taking them to court)
....Going to small claims
court is not that expensive and you might win, but what
....might happen is Chrysler
will settle before the case is presented. Another option
....is to join in on a Class
Action Law Suit against Chrysler.
