Technical Specifications

An large collection of faded blueprints came with Muxie Duxer, including a sailplan, electrical wiring plan (not a schematic diagram), and various views of the boat. They're fairly large, but as time permits I'll try to sbcan and post any in which people express particular interest. My boat doesn't quite match the blueprints--the head and sink are on opposite sides (my head is to port), and the batteries are in the starboard cockpit lazarette, not below the port quarterberth as drawn. I have an electric hot water heater there. I suspect the position of my batteries as the cause of a 2 degree starboard list.

I have summarized the sailplan from one of the blueprints.

Meticulous Recordkeeper Jeff Lennox very kindly posted Ericson's rig tuning instructions [31k, Word format] to the Ericson discussion list at sailnet.com. He also forwarded the Northeast Ericson Owner's Association's list of parts suppliers as of June 2000 [36k, Word format].

Meticulous Recordkeeper Steve Lazrove (The Starving Buddha) sent an Ericson 32 manual, vintage 1975, with additions for parts lists through about 1986. This is a must-have if you aspire to be a Meticulous Recordkeeper too. It's in three sections, all in multipage TIFF format:

My Ericson 32-II, with Atomic 4, batteries, and a modest amount of gear but with empty tanks, weighed about 10,000 pounds when I shipped her cross-country. This process, by the way, was relatively inexpensive and not as difficult or destructive as expected.
