Alhena Shetland Sheepdogs

Welcome to Alhena Shetland Sheepdogs. Alhena means shining or strutting and it is the name of the third brightest star * in the constellation Gemini. I chose the name of a star for my kennel name because of my background in Astrophysics. I hope that all present and future Alhena Shetland Sheepdogs will strut their stuff in the ring (conformation and/or performance) and shine in the eyes of their owners and those that meet them.

We are a new hobby kennel in Scarborough (Toronto), Ontario, Canada and we have two shelties at the moment, Lochisle Spice of Life CD HT AGI AGNJS VATChC Bronze and Alhena's Elentaari AGIJ MSCDC (below).

I believe that it is important to maintain the breed standard and produce healthy shelties with good temperaments. My current interests are training, agility, herding, obedience and conformation.
