May 28, 2008: Made some progress recently and I am at 230 pages, probably half-way into the book. I got a bit of help from a friend on legal aspects of the scenario in this book and it will help me move forward on my plot. April 22, 2008: Since I am updating the site to announce the award to be presented for The Curse of El Nio, I can also tell you I have been writing again a bit at a time, I am close to 150 pages. Hopefully summer will allow me more time to move the novel along. February 27, 2008: Since Nicole's accident - she shattered the bones in her arm and required 5 hours of surgery, now walks around with a metal plate in her arm, still three months of rehab to go - I haven't had much chance to work on my writing. I did review the structure to streamline some pages that seemed to ramble on without going anywhere. Presently standing at about 100 pages even after the cuts. November 30, 2007: So far, sixty pages are complete for book 3. I hope to find some time during the holidays to move this forward. July 23, 2007: The recap on this book. From March to May, while waiting for the editing of The Curse of El Nio, I started working on the plan for the third book in the Lakedge Disaster Series titled The Harness of the Riviera. The plan completed, I started right away on the writing and as of today I have four chapters written representing almost 20 pages. The Curse of El Nio July 18, 2007: IT'S OUT!!! THE BOOK IS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE PUBLISHER, WILL BE IN STORES BY MID-AUGUST. July 11, 2007: Just approved the final cover design. Waiting for the final galley and we're off. May 21, 2007: That's it, the editing is complete. I sent the manuscript to the publisher today. February 11, 2007 update: I wrote the last page at 10:30 p.m. yesterday evening. I have 450 pages at this time. Now we start the editing process. January 14, 2007 update: between Christmas and this weekend, I'm now at 380 pages completed. About another 60 to go and then I'll start the editing process. At this rate, the book should be on the shelves by July if everything goes right. Then on to Book 3 of the Lakedge Disaster Series. December 17, 2006 update: did some rewrite and expanded to now 277 pages. I hope to use Christmas vacation time to keep the momentum. November 11, 2006 update: although I haven't done much writing in the last while, I figure that with 260 pages, I am passed the half-way mark. September 10, 2006 update: with now 230 pages completed, I figure I am almost at the halfway point. Recent research and reviewing of my book plan has opened the way for some new ideas for me to incorporate. August 12, 2006 update: already 148 pages written and with on-going research more ideas are brought forward. June 24, 2006 the title for the next book is now pretty well set. Get ready for "The Curse of El Nio". I aim to complete it and have it available by the summer of 2007.
