Winter Encampment-----------------

Not much can be said about the winter encampent in Feburary. It rained all day Friday, so no one showed up. Saturday didn`t look much better as Mother Nature gave us another rain shower, all day. We all kinda hung out either under the fly, in the musuem or in the annex. Sunday did turn out better. The rain finally let up, and some people showed up to see us and wonder why we had stayed out there in the rain for two days. We did a little drill and demonstrations and that was about it. Sorry for the short report, but you can't write about anything when nothing happens!

History on the Lawn-----------------

The history on the lawn went alot better than the winter encampment. We had about 225 school kids on Friday, as usual. Most seemed interested in what we were doing and asked questions. There was this one teacher who seemed really interested in snakes. She kept asking about snakes, had we ever seen one, had we ever been bitten, did the actual soldiers get bitten, etc... We never figured that one out!

The main story on Saturday was about this naked women in camp. It was rumored that she and her partners wanted to take some pictures at the mansion. They ended up coming into camp and one striped, and took some pictures with Beau and Travis. She also got some pictures made of her and our battle flag! As the story goes, as the rest of us was out forging and she came up and asked if she could take some pictures. The next thing Beau and Travis knew, she was naked! Robert claimed with a loud voice "I ain`t never leaving camp again, even if I have to starve to death!" Only did we find out later that the girl was never naked! So ends a good story.

Sunday was a good day as well. We had some people show up and we did the usual drill and firing demonstrations. All in all it was a good weekend with the kinship and brotherhood thats always shared between us. So, here it is May, and we are yet to do a full re-enactment! Thats a little unusual, being that we have usually done at least one battle. I don`t know aabout the rest of ya, but I`m ready to kill some yankees! Just remember that we should all be out there for the right reasons! Bad Sgt! Bad Sgt! Be nice! (smack, smack!) See yall on the field of honor!
