History Of Present Unit
The modern Grays were reorganized in January 1981 by Brett Bondurant and Ray Oakes. Although only a few men at first, the unit would eventually grow to over thirty members. As a member of Longstreet's Corps, the company has worked with the National Park Service and the state parks of Virginia and North Carolina in presenting living history camps for the public. The unit also takes part in local events such as camps, parades and ceremonial details. The company participates in countless battles and events throughout the East Coast.
