Shipping of these Provinces, have taken in
proper consideration, and have also been
informed, of the skill and devoutness , of
the aforesaid .......................
................ have appointed him Captain,
on the aforesaid vessel, and have commisioned
it: as we Comission himself herewith: with
responsibility and Authorization, to appoint
for the aforesaid vessel such Officers and
sailors as he shall deem fit and he is order-
ed to: and also that in being Commissioned
against the aforesaid unseemly, unheard of
hostile practices of the English he is al-
lowed to attack and interfere with, and cap-
ture all Men-of-War and Merchant vessels,
including its cargo, in the domain of the Re-
public of England, or setting out from there,
or from there or elsewhere, go sailing with
a Commission, without any limit to places:
of course implying that he will not use it as
a pretext to damage, any Merchants, or resi-
