aforesaid hostile aggressions, of necessity
to get satisfaction with the help of God,
and in order to be satisfied, and make 
possible such, on account of the prevention
of the ruin of our Commerce and Shipping, 
which are of such importance to us, and al-
so thus Conserve and preserve the Wealth of
our Provinces, have deemed it necessary to
do all in our power to preserve it by equipping
it with all means of Reprisal.
   And also have
equipped a Man-of-War, and also a trust-
worthy, a loyal, skilled, and much expe-
rienced Person has been appointed to command
it, who has been authorized and Commissioned:
and who has been recommended to us for this 
purpose, by name of .................... and
who has made a request to be issued such a 
Commission, necessary for such activities, 
make it known, that we have such, in order 
to avert further mischief, and to further
the welfare of the General Commerce and
