   Oasis make their debut TV appearance, playing the cult Channel 4 series, 
   The World. 

   11 April 1994 
   First single 'Supersonic' released by Creation via Sony. It reaches No. 31 
   in the British singles chart. 

   26 June 1994 
   The band plays the Glastonbury festival's NME stage. Here Liam asks the 
   crowd. "Are you gonna wake up, then, for some real songs?" 
   
   2 July 1994 
   Follow-up 'Shakermaker' reaches the Top 20, as their appearance at the 
   Heineken Music Festival in Preston's Avenham Park sees Melody Maker dub 
   them the 'next big thing'. 

   8 August 1994 
   'Live Forever,' their first Top 10 single, is released. 
   
   29 August 1994 
   Oasis's debut album 'Definitely Maybe' is released. It takes Oasis to the 
   No. 1 slot in the British album charts. It is the fastest-selling debut of 
   all time. This has since been broken.
   
   23 September 1994 
   Oasis plays their first date of their slightly shaky first American tour. 

   September 1994 
   At a Newcastle gig a stage invader punches Noel in the eye. which sees 
   Oasis cut their set short.
   
   October 1994 
   Oasis undertakes their first American tour. 
   Oasis wins Best UK Band at the European MTV awards. 

   10 October 1994 
   'Cigarettes And Alcohol' there fourth single is released. 
   
   19 December 1994 
   There Christmas single 'Whatever' released, and the following month becomes 
   their first Top 3 entry, making it there best single yet.
