Follow-up 'Shakermaker' reaches the Top 20, as their appearance at the Heineken Music Festival in Preston's Avenham Park sees Melody Maker dub them the 'next big thing'.

Oasis's debut album 'Definitely Maybe' is released. It takes Oasis to the No. 1 slot in the British album charts. It is the fastest-selling debut of all time. This has since been broken.

Oasis plays their first date of their slightly shaky first American tour.

At a Newcastle gig a stage invader punches Noel in the eye. which sees Oasis cut their set short.
