Gracious dining features dishes elegantly prepared and garnished with herbs. And if afterward a guest feels the effects of overindulgence, herbal teas can help soothe the digestion. This modest, but growing collection of pages on individual herbs will help you determine which herbs to use for yourself, your cat, and your guests.

There's rosemary, that's for remembrance; pray you, love, remember: and there is pansies, that's for thoughts...There's fennel for you, and columbines; -- there's rue for you; and here's some for me: we may call it herb of grace o' Sundays: -- O, you must wear your rue with a difference. - There's a daisy: I would give you some violets; but they withered all when my father died.
Hamlet. Act IV. Scene V. |
Comments: Most of these herbs can also be grown indoors. While they require bright light, many do not require a sunny window. But don't be surprised if your cat resents plants taking over a comfy windowsill and makes the necessary rearrangements.
