/ Whoa - look at the date: 1, 2, 3 (...sorta). It's like the world's going to sing a song, and I'm going to be the one who writes it. Me or Tito Puente, it hasn't been decided yet. In site news, yes, there's been a slight redesign. It's a grey-ish blue, but if you see different, let me know. I've been neglecting to tell you all me biggest news, unfortunately it has nothing to do with music. I won an award. That's right. For those who don't know, I'm currently studying advertising at College, and there was this contest and so on and so forth. The potatoes and carrots of it all is that I'm going to Toronto on Nov. 14th for the Canadian Marketing Association Awards Gala. Black tie, open bar, etc. Tickets cost - brace yourself - $350. Luckily I'm getting in fo' free. Then five days later, getting back to the music thing, I'll be back in the TdotOdot...dot... for a show w. Lesley Pike and Dylan Shields. Also, I've uploaded a version of "Disaster" on my soundclick.com page (you can get there from my links section). John Mayer concert on Tuesday, should be fun. And that about does it for now. Please do yourself a favour and get Jim Bryson's new album 'the North Side Benches' and Damien Rice's 'O'. Both great finds. Until next time, keep sewing those mittens! Muah. 10.31.03
/ Is today Hallowe'en? Well, looks like I'm going out as a struggling musician/broke student this year - I'll ask for money instead of candy (no coins, please). Anyway, the shows that are coming up are very exciting indeed. I'm especially looking forward to playing with Lesley Pike - the talented AND gorgeous specimen from Toronto - a rare find indeed. Updated the lyrics page ('Under Star Shaped Lights' and 'Poor Old Shoebox' are now available for ... interpretation?). Went to the music store today and picked up five discs. Here's the lowdown:
Jim Bryson - the North Side Benches
Talk to you in a couple days, I guess. Be safe.

/ Check the shows page for a great piece of an update. Word. Also, today... well... now it's the 30th, at 2:40 am, I wrote a song entiteld "Under Star Shaped Lights" (thanks to Julia for the title) - it'll be in the lyrics section within a day or so. 10.27.03
/ Losing Elliott Smith is indeed sad. He's been very influential in my songwriting and the way I approach things. I only hope I can be half the musician he was. In other news, there's some new pictures up in the photogs section. I finally got a picture scanned in from LanternFest from back in August, and many more from Oct. 17th are up, too. In EP news, I'm in talks w. various studios re: my first 3 song EP. Lesley Pike, a gorgeous gal (and friend of mine), has agreed not only to play on the record, but to co-produce. Isn't she lovely? Head to her site and show her some lovin'. I'll see you around my dreams, lovers. 10.22.03 / Steven Paul (Elliott) Smith. August 6, 1969 – October 21, 2003. Elliott Smith was born on August 6, 1969 in Omaha, Nebraska. Elliott spent his childhood near Dallas, Texas where he began his musical training at the age of nine, winning a local award for original composition at the age of ten.

Elliott later attended Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, where he majored in Philosophy and Political Science. During his time at Hampshire, Elliott, known then as Elliott Stillwater Rotter, co-founded the band “A Murder of Crows”. He later became a member of well know band “Heatmiser”. It was during this time that Elliott began to release music as a solo artist.
During his lifetime, Elliott released five full-length albums as a solo artist as well as a number of singles. Elliott was nominated for an Academy Award for “Miss Misery”, his musical contribution to the Academy Award winning movie, “Good Will Hunting”.

Elliott is survived by a host of family, friends and fans. 10.22.03
/ New images up in the photos section. New main image. New level of exhaustion and frustration. Big news coming regarding a big show soon - me hopes. Hey look! A bed! Zzzzz. 10.20.03
/ So, I'm looking at pictures from friday night that will be up within the next couple days, and would like to bring one thing up to the people: musician's sweat. Sometimes more than desired. That is all. 10.18.03 / Yet another f'in amazing show last night. All bands involved blew the roof off - great crowd. Everything seemed to click. I had a dance contest during 'Flake', and my newest pal Julia took home the prize of a classy vintage t-shirt which was later bamboozled away by even newer friends from Dr. Tom's Leather who are my new favourite band, too. Also, I sat in with the Wellwishers for a cover of Radiohead's 'Street Spirit' - good times. Next show is a Reason For A Party show @ my friend Anne's new house. Keep checking back, though, as I'm trying to set up a show with the fantastical Lesley Pike from Toronto in mid-november. Much love to my homeboy's and girls. xoxo. (ps. new song posted in lyrics called 'Disaster'). 10.12.03
/ Trogdor, the source of my amusement. Show this Friday, the 17th, support local music. 10.11.03 / Been a very tough couple of months for me. More emotionally than physically, and I thank those who are sticking by me. The show with The Wellwishers, Dr. Tom's Leather, and Tier 3 @ Dekcuf is quickly approaching. On Oct. 17, plop down $5 to see a 4 act bill, be there promptly at 9. Couple minor changes on the site. The "scrib" section has been replaced by "press". Scrib was basically my journal, but I type everything here anyway, so there's no use to having it. New links are up in the clicks page. Some new photos, new press - check it out. I've got some news brewing, but we're going to let it develop before I spew it in your direction. Oh, and my name was in the Ottawa Citizen. They say all press is good press? Click this business.

/ Amazing show last night with Dylan Shields and Steve Stacey. Great crowd, good sets, just amazing. Thanks again to Bryan and the rest of Dekcuf for housing it. Dylan joined me on stage for a cover of Jack Johnson's "Flake" and the crowd ate it up. At the end of the night I reciprocated by singing "You and I Both" by Jason Mraz alongside the Shield. Next show is Oct. 17, where I'll be playing for about 1/2 hr., but expect some new material, and some good times. Check the shows page for more info. I've been trading e-mails with a new pal named Jim Bryson. He's the best thing to come out of Ottawa. Period. He'll be added to the clicks page asap, and be sure to check out his new album. Here's an interesting quote from one of his e-mail's : "John Mayer is on tv right now. I wonder if he
looked like Danny Devito, would people have noticed
him so much?". Check out a picture from last night here (thanks to Cousy for the pic).
