Reunion
Episode 204 (#14) - September 25 1996
Simon returns to his hometown for his twenty-year high school reunion. Jim and Blair are along to do some kayaking while Simon enjoys the reminiscing with old high school friends. Blair has Simon’s yearbook and while looking through it, finds Simon’s yearbook quote, “If us who, If not now when.” He also finds a picture of Simon’s first love Peggy Anderson.
Simon finds Peggy in the bar of the town hotel, Rossburg Resort Hotel, and finds his old friend to be very nervous around the town sheriff, Dave Becker, and the owner of Canyonlake Paper, Art Sturgis. Simon convinces Peggy to talk to him in his hotel room away from prying eyes, but is called back downstairs for a fax. When he returns, Peggy is nowhere to be seen and Simon is hit from behind.
Simon comes to and hears someone pounding on the door. He opens it to find several cops including Becker; supposedly responding to a shots fired complaint. One of the deputies finds Peggy’s body on the bathtub and Simon is the only suspect. Becker handcuffs Simon to a chair a hits him a few times. Simon fights back, breaks out of the chair and escapes the room only to be shot by Becker.
Simon calls Jim and tells him what’s happened. Jim and Blair return to Rossburg to find the hotel surrounded by deputies. They find Simon hiding in one of the rooms and patch up the bullet wound. They then leave Simon in the room and go in search of the evidence needed to prove Becker is behind the murder of Peggy. They get some help form Billy Cates, a long time hotel employee and Kerry Lance, a reporter who was working with Peggy on a story. Peggy was going to expose Canyonlake Paper of illegally dumping waste and causing several birth defects in the town population.
Jim gets Simon out of the hotel while Blair gets in touch with the FBI. Becker is arrested by his own men when they find out he is behind the murder of Peggy and is helping Art Sturgis cover up the paper plants problems.

- Simon worked in the Rossburg Resort Hotel at age 16 as a bell-hop
- Simon made captain four years ago
- Blair has poor map skills, as he directed Jim 40 miles in the wrong direction from where they wanted to be to go kayaking.
