Journey to Jesus

Poems by Ellen Kozisek

Vision

Only human.
Beautiful,
But not a god.
Rather, one more piece
of God’s beautiful, wondrous creation.
Reflecting the Goodness of the creator.
Human.

Sitting amongst the trees.
Standing in the rain, feeling it wet upon my skin.
Riding a roller coaster, twisting, turning, wind in my face.
Exchanging a smile.
All highs.
But to think about you
Is the ultimate high.

More Beautiful...

More beautiful than a mountain.
More beautiful than a sunset.
As beautiful as the trees of the forest.
More beautiful than a poem.
As beautiful as a song.
As beautiful as the music of Bach.

This is how I see him.
His beauty, a reflection of God's beauty.

To fall in love.
What a wonderful thing.
Suddenly, the world is beautiful.
I see beauty everywhere.

Beauty in the mountains.
Beauty in the trees.
Beauty in the tundra flowers.
Beauty in your people.

Beauty

Beauty.
The beauty of your creation.
How incredibly beautiful.

How do I respond to such beauty?
I responded with desire,
Desire for what I could not have.

You, however, are the creator of the beauty.

Your creation does not belong to me.
But you do.
I am yours and you are mine.
You have come to take possession of me,
And I have surrendered.

I have surrendered to the greatest beauty of all.

I've fallen in love.
Deeply.
Madly.
Passionately.

It started with him.
An irresistible vision of beauty.
I fell.
Hard.

But once I let myself feel,
It went beyond him.

Suddenly, the world is beautiful.
I see beauty everywhere.
And I find he is not the only one I love.

A Part of Me

He’s my Heaven,
A part of my soul.
I needed him.
Not to make love to me,
And touch me in all the right places.
Not to share a home with me.
Not to hold me tight and keep the world out.
Not to touch my body, but to touch my soul.
I needed him,
To be a part of me.
To touch me with his music.
To touch me with his spirit.
To be Christ to me.

In love totally.
Wanting completely.
Seeing the beyond human
Within the man.

My passion has awakened!

For so long I hid.
Afraid to feel.
When passion found me,
    I didn't understand.
I ran.
I hid.

Now, my passion has reawakened.
I've fallen in love with the universe.
Everything is beautiful.
Not only he who awakened my passion,
But all.
God's beauty is everywhere.

I have found my passion.
