Magazine of our Archbishopric Dear brothers in Christ, Christ is in our midst! With this note we are calling upon you to support the mission work of our church, by encouraging those interested to become subscribers to our magazine. Please photocopy the Archbishopric's announcement and distribute it among those who are interested and send us their names and postal addresses. Because of apartheid (and for other reasons which we cannot go into in this letter) we were unable to develop mission work to the local population of South Africa. But it is never too late. With God'?s help and that of my close colleagues we have started catechism classes and will soon baptise new Orthodox Christians. Please pray that God will help us to succeed. We are applying for land from the government in order to build our first mission church, and in the mean time we are aiming, once we have found the financial means, to start buying small houses in the areas where we are doing the catechism. We want to convert these houses into churches, schools and small clinics. Each house costs between $5000-$7000 (American dollars). Your subscription to our magazine will help us to make progress with the mission work of our church. May God keep you well and protect your family. With prayers and greetings in the love of Christ. .

ANNOUNCMENT OF THE HOLY ARCHBISHOPRIC OF JOHANNESBURG AND PRETORIA. For the past two months, with God'?s help, we have begun to publish a monthly magazine for our Holy Archbishopric'?s. The aim is to give information to all, and coordinate the work of the Archbishopric, as well as to raise us spiritually and strengthen our Orthodox Tradition. Its purpose is also to be a voice for us all. We want to encourage the publication of views and ideas that serve the purpose we have mentioned, and to cultivate a spirit of union and cooperation for a better future for the Orthodox in this beautiful country in which God has placed us. In order to continue the publication of our magazine, Alexandrian Light house of South Africa, without difficulties, we must all support this endeavour. Those who subscribe to our magazine will help to support the pastoral work of our Archbishopric and thus fulfil our great responsibility for the service of our people
