Calais Information:

This was my 84 Calais

From 1978 to 1984 the Calais option was available as a top-of-the-line option on the G-Body Cutlass. These kind of rare (rarer than std. Supreme by about 70,000 or so) cars were more sporty than the luxurious Broughm. They came standard with bucket seats, center console w/ floor shifter, Super Stock III wheels, larger front and rear sway bars w/ stiffer bushings and Rallye Gauge cluster. They came std with a Buick 231 (3.8), an optional Olds 307 (5.0), or a Olds 260 (4.3)*. The 231 had 110hp, the 307 had 150hp until 85 when it was lowered to 140hp, and the 260 had 110 in '78, 105 in '79-'81, and 100 in '82. Also of note, Canadian cars had a Chevy 305 (5.0) and 267 (4.4) as an option.

*Thanks to Eric Foght for pointing out that the 260 was an option.
