This is where I keep my happy pretty specimens. As in the specimens that are too good to be plopped on top of the TV or on a bookshelf somewhere gathering dust. A lot of them aren't very spectacular or worth hundreds (I wish). Some pieces in other collection pages are actually on my A Shelf but I arranged them how I see fit.

Cobalt Calcite. Unknown location. A fairly new specimen.

Two Galena Cubes. Purchased at a rock shop in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Good bet it's from Missouri.

Partial Fluorite Octahedron. Dug from a tailings pile. I actually have many more of these for work.

Unusual hematite formation. From Nador, Morocco. The picture doesn't capture it well. Darn scanner.

Regular polished hematite. Not really sure why it's on the A Shelf other than as an example.

Volcanic rock. Unsure where I got it from, possibly Agate Beach, Duluth, Minnesota.

Malachite. Plain ol' polished piece leftover from something or other.

Moss Agate chunk from a tailings pile. Smooth milky white color.

Hungarian Opal. Inside Fluoresces green when exposed to shortwave UV light.

Optical Calcite. From somewhere in Wyoming.

Pyrite Cube cluster from the P&M Mine in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The cubes aren't very visible in the picture.

Quarter of a Pyrite Dollar. Purchased at a rock shop.
