This is where I keep my happy pretty specimens. As in the specimens that are too good to be plopped on top of the TV or on a bookshelf somewhere gathering dust. A lot of them aren't very spectacular or worth hundreds (I wish). Some pieces in other collection pages are actually on my A Shelf but I arranged them how I see fit.

Amethyst on Fluorite. From the Nancy Hanks Claims, Mesa County, Colorado

Zinc and Quartz. From the Monte Cristo Mine in Rush, Arkansas.

Apatite crystals in granite. From somewhere in the middle of nowhere Minnesota. I whacked it off a rock myself for mineralogy class.

Apophyllite on Stilbite. From Poona, India. It's one of my favorites and a fairly new specimen.

Arsenopyrite and Quartz. From the Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang County, Hunan Province, China.

Smithsonite on Calcite. Pulled it from a tailings pile. It also fluoresces yellow-green.

Mica and Black Tourmaline. Pulled this and a few others from a reject pile.

Quartz on Fluorite. The backside is deeply purple. Really pretty. Another one saved from the reject pile.

Sphaelerite on Drusy Quartz. Another rejected specimen. Why I don't know.

Calcite cubes with miniature pyrite and galena crystals. One of my favorites and way cool!

Cavansite. From Poona, India.

Mercury in Cinnabar Matrix. From Almadén, Ciudad Real, Spain. Is this cool or what?
