I was surprised to find lots of evergreens at the top of Headwaters Hill - since it's nearly 12,000' above sea level, I expected the summit would be above the timberline. It was nice to have a little shelter though, because the wind that day was very strong. The photo below shows the quiet little spot where we had lunch.
The foliage on the north face is so dense that you don't really have a good view in that direction. There are a few bare spots, though, from which you can get clear views to the west and to the southeast.
