"Make Love not War"...
Awarded to exceptional sites that promote tolerance, anti-hate, equality, and unity in diversity.
"The Great Romantics"...
Awarded to exceptional sites that have romantic content, sensual (not pornographic), that encourage wholeness and monogamy in relationships.
"Techno-Dreamer"...
Awarded to exceptional "cutting edge" tech sites using unique or unusual graphics, interesting navigation, or other unique uses of current design technology.
"The Artist's Palette"...
This award will only be given to exceptional sites that contain original art, photography, and/or graphics presented in an appealing or interesting format. Colors and layout are to be "flowing" and/or with artistic purpose.
Qualifications for the awards are as follows:
1. No prejudice, hate, or intolerance in graphics or text...that will immediately disqualify you.
2. Your coding should be better than mine! Errors, broken graphic links or text links are a "no-no"! I will check all links in your site. I do not take giving an award lightly, therefore, you should not take receiving one lightly! :)
3. Use of JavaScript, DHTML and other design technologies are fine, as long as no page takes more than one full minute to download. I use a 56K modem, as a great majority of people do, and we shouldn't have to wait any longer than that. If I DO wait longer than that, what I waited for had better be pretty spectacular...so be sure your images are optimized for quick download. The ONLY exception I will make on download time is on Flash sites.
4. I would like for you to sign my guestbook. It's at the bottom of my index page. That is NOT, however, a requirement and will have no bearing on your award acceptance. A small thing to ask, I think, so just give in and do it. I know, I don't sign them often either, but we ALL need to learn to be polite, me included!
5. I am not a harsh judge, but if a site is going to receive an award, I want it to be pretty "tight". It should either be for the good of the viewers or the good of technology. It should somehow benefit the viewer. There is plenty of garbage out there for us all to drown in. Have a purpose of encouragement, or improving cyberspace somehow! Content is important. Links pages have sites that will award exceptional links sites...this isn't one of them. I use links pages, and love them, but cannot possibly wade throught the entirety of that. I would have to look at every single site you link to and make sure there is no pornography, no prejudice, no hate...I simply don't have THAT kind of time...sorry.
