Leslie's "Monica" was really a big hit in the 80's.
Chan Siu-Bo (head of Cinepoly Records) presented Leslie
the 6 white-gold-albums(?) he earned in 1987.
Leslie's character Ning Tsoi-San in movie "A Chinese Ghost Story"
has been well established in everyone's heart.
Leslie and Chan Kit-Ling singing their famous duet
"only afraid that we won't meet again" (自怕不再遇上).
It was a shock to everybody in 1989 when Leslie announced
his decision to leave and never sing again.
He made the Ming-Pao magazine front page too.
Mrs. Chan Suk-Fan and Mr. Cheung Yiu-Wing have also
been long-time working-buddies with Leslie.
Leslie has been very close to the respected old lady Bak Suet-Sin.
See, he and Mr.Tong were even willing to have a photo together.
This is Leslie with his God-son Justin - Leslie has been very good friends
with his parents and he liked him a lot.

In 1992 there was much ado about the choice of main actor in
"Farewell my concubine", it ended up being Leslie and
he certainly did a good job.
1993 Leslie was awarded the "Most popular Hong Kong star"
at the Tokyo Film Award.
Leslie was also able to be in the judging team,
he was actually the first actor given that honour.
