Devil's Advocate

Devil's Advocate

There was once a young man named Aubrey, who had astrong affable presence. He was the type of person you showed respect to. Everytime he came around he had a smile on his face, never a dull moment when he was around. No one guessed his dark secret: the devil was haunting him.
Aubrey came from a very godly family. Strong Christans they were. In the bible you learn to understand that the devil is a blight in people's lives and the devil was reprobated by the lord and savior. Aubrey had to struggle to keep Satan out of his life. He fought with Satan in his dreams with fire. He defeated the devil many times, but he knew the devil was getting too strong for him when the devil came alive.
Many things were happening around Aubrey. Everytime he would turn a blind eye, the devil was taking someone's life. The devil had caused the death of 3 people within a year in subway stations. The devil was trying to put into Aubrey's mind that he should kill himself by jumping in front of a oncoming subway train. Aubrey continued to refuse. What helped him to refuse was his faith in God and to look at the cross every Sunday in church.
To the worls Aubrey was the happiest man. No one suspected what was going through his mind....until it was to late. Aubrey showed no bad mien or signs of dejection. One day Aubrey fell sick. This was the devil's work. Aubrey remained fervent and candid to his family, friends, and co-workers, when deep down inside the devil's incanations were weakening him even more.
One day while he, Aubrey was home all alone in his studio apartment, he heard a voice scream from the bathroom. It shook Aubrey so much that he jumped in fear. This time he heard talking. He asked "who's in there?" Then the voice begin to recite a prayer.
Aubrey walked into the bathroom. He had a bat in his hand. He was scared but showed no signs of weakness. He creeped slowly towards the bathroom. Slowly he moved into the bathroom. The voice was silent. So Aubrey moved towards the shower curtain. He reached out, scared of who or what could be behind the curtain. Then he pulled the curtain back fast. To his surprise, nothing was there. "Thank God," he said to himself.
He walked to the sink, he splashed water on his face. When he looked in the mirror he saw himself and sighed. He splashed water on his face again, then looked up. What he saw in the mirror was horribly gross. His face has no skin. Only flesh and bone and one of his eyeballs were gauged out. HE screamed and screamed. Then he woke up.
He went to get a glass of water to calm himself dodwn from the nightmare he had just had. As he was walking back to his bed he heard a voice. The same voice from his nightmarish dream. "Not again," he said. This time the voice grew into a loud cackle. Then the voice began to chant. This was driving Aubrey crazy. He kept telling the voice "Leave me alone." Teh voice began to recite the Lord's Prayer over and over again immutably.
Next Aubrey heard a dirge. He cried out and said, "Devil, you're not taking me. As God is my witness, you're not taking me."
Then a big ball of fire appeared before him in his apartment. A voice within the ball of fire said, "Come now for you must die."
Then Aubrey recited a verse from the Bible. Teh devil was indelibly strong. Aubrey continued to recite the verse. The ball of fire entered Aubrey's body through his mouth and Aubrey blacked out.
The next morning Aubrey's mother received a surprise visit form his coworkers. They walked into the living room with each other. They had come with frightening news of Aubrey. Aubrey had died in a accident that morning, possibly suicide. His mother was extremely devastated. Then his sister came home. They broke the news to her also. She cried in devastation and turmoil.
After family and friends came, ir was time for an investigation. Aubrey allegedly jumped in front of an oncoming subway train on his way to work. When the devil entered Aubrey's body the night before, he took over Aubrey's mind. This caused him to commit suicide. Aubrey's coworkers were employees and employers at Rikers Island prison. They investigated his apartment and found a letter, possibly a suicide letter.
The next few days the family and friends of Aubrey saw him laying in a coffin on a bier, followed by an interment in a sepulchre.
Aubrey died and unexpected death. No one knows why or what was going through his head at the time. Even though suicide is an unforgiven sin, the lord forgave him and saved him. He was a follower of god and a warm and intense spirit to life itself. Though he is not living mortally he is living spiritually in his new abode with the lord
