The Grille is the hangout spot for all the kids living at the Lodging Houses. Although it is open to public and is often crowded, the newsies act as if they own the plce. The restaurant is owned by Lucas and Camille Bergstrom, who inherited it from Lucas's parents. Neither of the Bergstrom's work often in the actual restaurant. From time to time Lucas works in the kitchen, but he mostly sticks to the money end of the business. Camille was a waitress until she found out she was pregnant in late May. Trisha "Backtalk" O'Ryan is the head waitress, working only during the daytime. At nighttime, Flicker McAleenan takes over and works in Trisha's place. Jeremy Jansky is a waiter and bartender, but only works when needed to fill in for someone.
Above the Grille are rooms where the Bergstroms and Trisha sleep. Two children of about the age of one also sleep up there. There is an open room, which anyone is able to rent. They let newsies sleep there if they are too sick or drunk to return home.
