Once you've downloaded the file, a file called lgfiles.sit should appear
in the folder you downloaded the file to. Double click on the file and
Stuffit Expander should decompress the file. After the file has been
decompressed you'll see a folder called lgfiles.Within this lgfile folder
are four folders: rosters, stats, 2001 WL and 2001 EL (note, if the
files are an updated release, which usually happens on a Monday, instead
of a stats release, you'll only see the rosters and stat folders within
the lgfile folder).
- ROSTERS/STAT FILE INSTRUCTIONS: Open the rosters folder and select
all files and move them into the rosters folder found within your
CD ROM V6 folder. If you get a message that asks if you want to replacethe
files with the same name, choose ok. Now open up the stats folder
and select all files and move them into the stats folder found within
your CD ROM V6 folder. Once again If you get a message that asks if
you want to replace the files with the same name, choose ok. Then
just open up the game, and the 2001 Eastern League and the 2001 Western
League should appear in the league column of the managers window.
- BOXSCORE/PLAY ACCOUNT INSTRUCTIONS: The 2001WL folder contains all
the boxscores(BOX) and play account (PAC) files for the WL, and the
2001 EL folder contains all BOX and PAC files for the EL. Boxscores
(BOX) and play accounts (PAC) are numbered chronologically by when
the game was played within the week. So if you want to view a game
that was the third game played in the first day of the week, you take
the smallest number and go up two. For example in week 1, the thrd
game on the first day would have a boxscore name of BOX0003 and the
play account would be PAC0003.
- TO VIEW THE BOX/PAC FILES FOR MAC USERS: To view BOX and PAC
files from the V6 game move either or both 2001 WL and 2001 EL
folders into your print folder within your CD ROM V6 folder. SOM
now creates separate folders for each leagues boxscores, so you
no longer need to remove files from within the folders I send
in order to view them within SOM. Open up the game and under the
file menu choose view prt files. An open window dialog box will
appear. Find the 2001 WL or 2001 EL folder that you placed in
the print folder within the V6 folder and open it up.Then just
select a box or pac file to view either a boxscore or play account.
You can also view the box/pac files via your favorite text application.
Just open up the text application of your choice, then go to file-open,
make sure it's set to show all files and then find the box or
pac file you want to open within the 2001 EL or 2001 WL file.
If the text isn't lining up correctly, select all text and choose
a font like courier or Monaco/size 10 or 9 TO
- VIEW THE BOX/PAC FILES FOR WINDOW USERS: Unfortunately, the
box files that are saved on a Mac cannot be read by the SOM program
for Windows, so the only way to view the box/pac files is via
a text application. Open up the text application of your choice,
then go to file-open, make sure it's set to show all files and
then find the box or pac file you want to open within the 2001
EL or 2001 WL file. If the text isn't lining up correctly, select
all text and choose a font like courier or Monaco/size 10 or 9.

WHAT ARE THE ASBL ROSTER FILES? If you are wondering what's the difference
between the 2001 ASBL league files and the 2001 EL/WL league files,
here's a brief explanation: The 2001 ASBL league files contain all
players on your roster. This includes uncarded players (see
uncarded rules 5h and 6h for info on uncarded availability) and
players who do not have the minimum amount of appearances to be eligible
to play (see
rule 3a for more info on a player's minimum eligibility to play).
As opposed to the 2001 EL/WL league files which only contain on your
roster the players that are eligible to play. Also, the 2001 ASBL
league files show a player's actual major league apperances from the
previous season while the 2001 EL/WL league files have been adjusted
by 130% to reflect the maximum usage a player can have during the
regular season. And lastly league games will never be played with the
ASBL league files.
