- Junior defenseman Paul Martin was named a second-team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association.
- The Gophers scored just 13 seconds into the NCAA West Regional Championship game against Ferris State. Matt Koalska's game-opening goal was the fastest goal in NCAA regional history and the fifth fastest in any NCAA tournament game. The Gophers went on to win 7-4.(3-29-03)

- Gino Guyer, Barry Tallackson and Thomas Vanek were selected to Compete at the World Junior Championships. Guyer and Tallackson were on the roster for the 2003 U.S. Junior National Team.Vanek competed for Austria. The tournament ran from Dec. 26, 2002 through Jan. 5, 2003.
- Former University of Minnesota Men's Hockey Coach Doug Woog was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame at the 29th annual Induction Ceremony and Dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
- The Gophers have signed four student-athletes to national letters of intent to play beginning with the 2003-2004 season. They include: Danny Irmen a 6’0", 190-pound forward from Fargo, N.D, Ryan Potulny, a 6’0", 185-pound forward from Grand Forks, N.D, Jake Taylor, a 6’4", 210-pound defenseman from Byron, Minn and Mike Vannelli, a 6’2", 190-pound defenseman from Mendota Heights, Minn.(11-15-02)
