Israel

This picture does a wonderful job of showing all the places that I visited.  The only place that isn't on the map is Akko, which is near Haifa in the north.

So we landed in Tel Aviv and took a bus to Jerusalem.  After the 10  hour flight and the 6 hour layover in Montreal, i was really really tired.  So it was off to bed for me.  Then next day we looked at other hostels and we found the wonderful place which had turtles roaming the gardens.

Then there is the site seeing in Jerusalem.  One place that you can see from virtualy anywhere is the Dome of the Rock and the Wailing Wall. 
After Jerusalem, we were off to Ellat.  That is in the most southerly part of Israel and it was HOT.  We spent most of our time at the Red Sea or trying to cool off in our air conditioned hostel.
After three days of that heat we were off north.  We stayed in Haifa for a while then went to Tiberius, next to the Sea of Galilee.

After the Sea of Galilee (bottom left) we went to Nazareth to see all of the architecture there.  Then we were off back down to Jerusalem.  In our last couple of days here we decided to go on the Masada day trip.  This trip started at 3am and went till 2pm.  What a long day that was.  It was lots of fun though.  We ended up seeing people we met in Haifa (picture of Mount Carmel top left in Haifa).  We got to watch the sun rise that morning then we were off to the Dead Sea.  Then we went to the most beautiful place ever, En Gedi.  After walking though the dessert you came into an area full of waterfalls.  Dancing in the water made it all worth walking in the heat. 

Our trip them came to an end and we went back toTel Aviv to the airport where we spent two days.  I was so happy to get onto the plane to get some sleep.
