  Fleet News!
  The latest announcements from Shannon...

8th November 2000 : Documentation Update

The BAe 146-200 operating manual V1.0 has been released and is now available for download. If you fly this aircraft please take the time to review the manual. Revision 2 of this aircraft is also now available for download. Fuel burn rate has been adjusted to match the BAe figures better.

24th October 2000 : Documentation Update

The Dehaviland Dash 8 Q400 operating manual V1.0 has been released and is now available for download. If you fly this aircraft please take the time to review the manual.

7th October 2000 : Fleet Update

Further work has been done on the ATR72 following the updated FAA recomendations regarding this aircraft. As a result of this work a revised operating manual is also available for download. The revised aileron design has made the aircraft more responsive and less prone to icing.

7th September 2000 : Fleet Update

More avionics refits have taken place, with the A320 and A321 being the recipients of a revised windshield after reports of glare from pilots. Also the MD-83 has finally received it's long awaited livery change. More 'news' on the rumours page...

12th August 2000 : Simon Bradshaw Joins Fleet Management

I am delighted to announce that Simon Bradshaw has joined the Eurodirect Fleet Department as Technical Engineering Manager. Simon has previously worked on several Fleet Projects, (most of which are only just appearing) and is a pilot for the UK & Ireland Hub.

Welcome To The Team!

27th July 2000 : New aircraft deliveries!

The first Dash 8-Q400B aircrafts are now being delivered to Shannon. Initially these aircrafts will be used only from the new Berlin hub, with pilots being requested to fly these aircrafts to Berlin with a brief stopover at Frankfurt for inspection. The Dash 8-Q400B is a very special aircraft, the first of a new generation of high performance and high efficiency turboprops.

As the Dash 8-Q400 is a new aircraft to our Shannon Maintenance Centre, an agreement has been reached with Denmark's Duckling Air whereby these aircrafts will initially be maintained at Copenhagen while EuroDirect technical staff become familiar with this advanced aircraft.

Similarly, these aircrafts will only be used on the shorter regional routes until crews are deemed fully familiar with the aircraft. The Dash 8-Q400 has been rated as a category 1 aircraft.

There have been delays in delivery of the expected CRJ 200-LR, also from Bombardier and part of the same 1999 order by EuroDirect CEO Paolo Patat. This aircraft is expected very shortly.

Another item of note is that the EuroDirect ATR 72 are being recalled to Shannon for an avionics update

27th July 2000 : Fleet Management Changes...

There have been a few changes:

The EuroDirect Fleet team are now (due to external commitments) without the services of Davidson Davidson, who was involved in a number of the ongoing EuroDirect projects. I am sure all of the EuroDirect management team will join me in wishing Davidson 'all the best'. I would personally like to thank Davidson for his ongoing support despite external pressures, and for promoting debate and discussion among the team.

Anyway, if anyone would like to congratulate Davidson on his forthcoming addition to the Davidson family, please do so on the forum. Davidson has assured me he will remain as a pilot and that seems the best place to put it.
