Fishing is one of the most relaxing sports in Florida. Even if we never catch a thing, it's great to be out on the water on a nice sunny day. But if you can't be out fishing, you can at least be looking at fish on your computer screen. Visit "Sherman's Lagoon" daily, you'll get a chuckle out of this comic strip, we always do. Its all about the lagoonies, a fun loving bunch of sharks and fish and even turtles who inhabit a tropical lagoon. There is also freeware and lots of other interesting things on this site, take a look, get a laugh!

Of course, there are serious links too. Florida fishermen depend on Florida Sportsman magazine to help us pursue our hobby. Their on-line magazine has lots of good links to fishing spots, weather info, tournaments and laws. My wife says that, even though they are on-line, I should always subscribe to the magazine so I have something to read on the boat when I'm not getting any bites! I think that if more ladies went fishing, men would show off and catch more fish. I found a "Ladies, Let's Go Fishing!" site where women can attend a "No-Yelling" School of Fishing which is a weekend seminar and billed as "a fun way for women to learn saltwater fishing". For all females who want to learn about salt water fishing, this is the place to go.

A great place to learn about all the big catches is at the International Game Fish Association. It's in Dania, Florida, and we thought it was certainly worth the trip from our Central Florida location. Our local source of information about the Indian River lagoon is a newspaper called the CAM, The Coastal Angler's Magazine. I picked it up free somewhere then found out in the magazine that they also had a website so now I can access them anytime. The pages (both printed and "webbed") are full of good info about our part of Florida and the lagoon.

We Support The Billfish Foundation!A good place to learn about Catch and Release conservation is the The Billfish Foundation pages. Remember, the more fish you release, the more fish there will be to catch again! The fun is in the catching not the killing and, besides, who has enough wall space for mounting all the fish that they catch? Educate your kids about catch and release at the Billfish Just for Kids site.

Looking for a great search index for fishermen? Look no further than FishHoo, a site with over 6000 links, monthly give-aways, personal email accounts and more. If you need current Florida fishing reports, visit the Florida Fish and Hunt pages. If you have something to say about fishing, you can submit articles that will be published on their site or you can jump onto their forum and chat. For a good directory of Florida fishing information visit the Florida Smart fishing site where you'll find saltwater, freshwater, and bass fishing links, plus links to clubs and associations. They list lots of links by area so you can find the exact place you'd like to fish! Need a flats fishing guide? I recommend my neighbor, the Reel Fishgyde, for year round flats fishing charters. Last but not least, don't forget to check out all the links on the USA Marine Net.
