Have you forgot?
This is the service where my Uncle Marvin was laid to rest. He paid the highest price that a citizen can pay. He paid this price because his country called. He was shot down while serving in the Air Force. He perished in Germany to stop a tyrant.
The man with the cigarette in his hand and the man on his shoulder is his brother. He still survives today.His name is Wilburn D. "Red" Ivie.
In these two pictures you see a family who shows two sons in uniform,W.D. "Red" Ivie and Marshall C. Ivie,the other worked in a C.C. Camp, he built airplanes for the war effort. He is Paul J. Ivie he also was the brother of Marvin, Marshall and Wilburn. The year says enough. Our rights are being stripped away by the very government who asked them to stand and fight a tyrant.
How can America forget so soon? Why does my heart break with each passing day at the misuse of power that we give the government. Don't you care? I know that many many families' paid higher prices some lost more than just one son, husband, father,or brother. We are letting another monster grow in our very own midst. And it isn't just one tyrant, it is a whole group of tyrants. They tell you what you can and cannot say. They tell you where you can and cannot pray. They tell you how to raise your children. They tell you that you don't have the right to own the means to defend yourself. Don't you care? How could you not care?
I never got to meet my Uncle Marvin he died before I was ever born. But it makes me cry to think of what our country has become after what he gave to make sure it didn't fall to a tyrant.
