Apathy?
I saw something really disturbing lastnight on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. It all started with a bit about the new movie "Patriot". Now I know that they only used those that appeared ignorant, but the point that I am getting at here is the fact that one person being ignorant about the subjects that were asked is too many. First I will have to tell you that I cannot remember which order these subjects came in but I do remember them and will address them. First there was a question asked about who we fought in the "Revolutionary War", the answer of Germany was given. Then it was asked when was this war fought, answer given was in the 1940's. And then this question "What is the 4th of July?" Believe it or not they answered this question correctly, the answer given was Independence Day, but upon further questioning they were asked what 4th of July, as in what year, they couldn't answer, they had no idea what year. There were many others relating to the Revolutionary era and I was dumbfounded at the answers being given. And they just laughed about it, they laughed as if it were funny that these people were ignorant about it. The very most rudimentary questions regarding the single most important era in our countries history and these people were completely ignorant. I hang my head in shame. I am so ashamed that my ancestors have apparently died in vain. That there sacrifice was for naught except that these people have the freedom afforded them that they can forget the debt others paid for them to walk the streets today in blissful ignorance. It is no wonder that our government can strip away our freedoms and rights without fear of reprisal, they know that the people of America either don't care or are so ignorant that they do not know what they are losing. I am so scared that there are so many people out there that don't know or don't care that they will follow the government blindly into the fleecing of our rights as sheep go to their shearing.
I know that there will be some of you out there who say that I am one of these "Conspiracy Theory" nuts. Well I am going to have to agree with you I am a nut about it because I am not blind and I can see what is happening. You say that I am paranoid and that our government wouldn't do the things that I am writing of. I tell you that I am scared to death that it is too late for us to stand against what is unConstitutional. I fear that by my writing these things I place my life in jeopardy, I know that there are government agencies who very much dislike people speaking out against their government. I know that I am putting myself on a list of people to watch. I know that I place myself in harm's way. But I, unlike many of our society today do care and I will not stand by and let it happen without speaking out. I will not go quietly, I will not be a puppet on a string. I know what the Constitution stands for and I don't need some elected official to tell me what it says. I don't need a court to interpet plain english. I don't need a lawyer to tell me that my rights have been violated already. I am simply saying what I can while I can.
One of the reasons for this country being formed was for the right to religious freedom. And that right is under attack just as well as our right to keep and bear arms. The government is now telling us where we can and cannot pray, they are even telling our children where and how they may practice their religious beliefs. Our Constitution was deliberately worded for a reason, and now our government is trying to tell us that what our Constitution says is not what it really means. Give me a break will you! I must once again protest the very ignorance that the government advocates. Tests are given in school to make the students look better to meet government expectations, and all for the money that our government provides for schools that meet up to those expectations. Instead of truly challenging our childrens minds and strenghtening our society they have molded trained sheep to add to the fold. I embark on the education of my child myself come this fall. The state says what she has to learn in order to be promoted to the next grade level, but I will hold the key to freeing her mind to challenge her intelligence. To push her until she not only accomplishes those standards but exceeds them. In doing so I know that the Attorney General of the United States of America has already said that the government needs to keep their eyes on me because I may be militant, and an unfit parent. I tell you that you are a mindless puppet if you think that she is correct. I love God and my Country, I love the Constitution which gives me the right to exercise those choices, and I despise those who will follow blindly those who would strip me of my freedom and my rights.
