THE SCAM ALERT PAGE!
Updated for September, 2002
(time sure flies when you're getting scammed)
Here is the current update on scams, plus alerts on important changes in some programs. The Graveyard grows! (Write me at daqman123@yahoo.com)
MYECOM ALERT!!!
From the MEC website: "IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MEC MEMBERS - RESTRUCTURING OF BUSINESS 9/1/02
the changes that are being implemented ON September 1st, 2002, can be summed up quite simply: Members that sell will be paid. Members that do nothing, will not. The Specifics of this new policy are as follows:
1. There will be no more Points for anything but sales; and
2. The Point System is the same as it always has been for sales; with the exception of the Point Value being based on 50% of the Profit."
CASHRADIO ALERT!!!
Effective June 15th, CashRadio abruptly suspended their paid program citing a non-payment by one of their major advertising brokers. Apparently, this dispute has extended into July and there will be no accrual of stats until August (at the earliest). This merits obvious concern as we've seen programs say "we'll be right back!" many times, only to constantly put us on delay before fading into oblivion.
August update: Same crap. Still "temporarily" suspended.
September update: screw CashRadio
PORIVO ALERT!!!
The last week of February, Porivo took me (as well as many others) off ACTIVE status and put me back on PENDING. At the time, I was in the top 10 on the monthly money list, but all that money was wiped out as they only pay active users. Apparently, they've had a slowdown and got caught in a cashflow crunch. This is reality, and I can understand their desire to reduce users, but problems like this don't arise overnight. They did this late in the month after users accrued earned income, and then cut them off, pretending their debt to these users doesn't exist anymore.
March update I: Porivo re-activated me on March 14 and paid me for the referrals I previously accrued.
March update II: Porivo put me on PENDING (again!) on March 19, claiming I wasn't using Porivo up to their minimal levels. That's because I stopped using your program after you deactivated me. Idiots.
May update: screw Porivo.
THE GRAVEYARD
Dead Programs (Details)
*epipo joined the graveyard in January. After 2 1/2 years of not paying anyone, they've decided to end the cruel joke on its members. But in one final tease, they are promising to pay everyone who is due more than $24.00 as of Feb 1, 2002. This isn't the 1st time a disappearing company has promised payments (and it won't be the last), but again, don't hold your breath. I HAVE NEVER BEEN PAID by a dead program. Have you? Anyway, I'm owed nearly $80, so let's see how it goes. Miracles do happen, right? LOL
