From a TAXI reviewer: "Well, sir, I have a feeling you could sing names out of the phone book and make it sound good. I got chill bumps listening to these songs, mostly because of how you get inside each performance and deliver the vocal in such a way that really brings the song's lyrical sentiment to life, but also because these songs seem so earnest, sincere, heartfelt. I listened to a few of the songs two or three times just to let the performances wash over me. I can definitely feel the spirit of artists like Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark in your material, and I really respect you for following in their footsteps."
From RootsTown: "This is a perfect CD for laying together in front of an open fire on a cold winter evening." Fred Schmale
From Real Roots Cafe: "Honestly, I was and still am under the considerable impression of the talent on display. Not so much due to innovative work, but more because of the rich simplicity by which this album continues to captivate despite its sparse instrumentation. The music, and especially Colin's voice, has an intimate touch, instantly recognizable, and one after another the songs reveal complete melodies. I was frankly “flabbergasted”! The romantic character of Colin’s acoustic folk-oriented music is framed by his guitar playing, with only a harmonica, a bass, and discrete background vocals for further finish. .... The title gives away that this is Colin's second CD, and listening it’s clear that there is talent here which one hopes will be nurtured and tapped to yield more from this wonderful barrel." Rein van den Berg The second track from "No. 2" - "Let's Go To New Orleans" - has received rave reviews from the listeners at GarageBand.com, where it has been named in both the Americana and Folk categories ![]() and received Reviewer's Picks Awards in Americana for Best Male Vocals (twice) Best Guitars Best Lyrics (twice) Best Melody (twice) Best Mood (twice) Feel Good Track and Chill-Out Track

From Dutch radio: “No. 2 is just out and contains fascinating singer-songwriter works with acoustic guitar and harmonica, made even more intriguing by a few beautiful choruses, and of course Colin’s own handsome voice, which at times reminds one of John Denver. An exceptionally pleasing album!" Alt Country Cooking (Radio Winschoten, The Netherlands) |
