How to Connect to the StarChat CoDependents Anonymous Meeting

The CoDependents Anonymous Meeting on StarChat can be connected to via several ways

With a Web Browser (Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) How to Logon via the web

1. Go to www.starchat.net

2. Click on Browser Chat Applet and wait for it to load. Accept the applet when it comes up.

3. Enter a nickname in the Nick Name Box

4. In the Channel box, enter coda

5. Click on Connect Now to enter the coda channel

With WebTV

1. Go to www.starchat.net

2. Click on WebTV Info

3. Follow its instructions

With an IRC (Chat) Program

1. Before using IRC, you must first have an IRC Software Program (called a Client in IRC terminology) & you must add at least one of the StarChat servers to your IRC Program.

Go the IRC Client Program Links Page to find an IRC Program, if you do not have one already.

To find the list of StarChat Servers, please go to StarChat Server List Page

OR open your IRC program and in any window, type: /server irc.starchat.net

2. Enter your nick name and connect to StarChat.

3. Once connected, to enter the channel, type /join #CoDA in the appropriate place in your IRC program to join the channel.

Registering your nickname on Star Chat [RECOMMENDED FOR ALL, REQUIRED FOR AOL (COMPUSERVE, PRODIGY, WAL-MART CONNECT) SUBSCRIBERS]

1. Logon to StarChat as shown above.

2. Once on StarChat, enter /ns register (Your Email Address) (Your Password) on any input line.

3. Your will receive an Email from Star chat. Follow its instructions for activating your registered nickname.
