- Practice the demonstration.
- Schedule time with the customer and present the demonstration.
Prototype
Unless the customer has specified that the entire prototype must be built prior to migration, it can be more cost effective to utilize network simulation tools to determine how well the design can be expected to perform, then gradually migrate groups of users in phases as the new network is built.
- Review customer requirements.
- Define prototype scale.
- Investigate competitors.
- Develop a test plan.
- Purchase and configure equipments.
- Practice demonstrations.
- Final tests and demonstrations.
By reviewing the work before doing anything else the consultant avoids hardware expenditures and commitment of human resources on items which might prove unnecessary later on. The review period can also be used to list ideas for demonstrations that will please the customer. Similarly, as the review proceeds, the consultant can identify those areas which might cause a negative reaction by the customer during the demonstration.
