A Spotted Owl
I am just a spotted owl,
One of the world's greatest fowls.
I live here in a big oak tree,
I try to be quite so people won't see me.
Oh, I don't sit up here all the time,
I have to go and see what I can find.
Some days I see a lot of birds fly by,
They are really flying very high.
Most of the time I am sitting here on this limb,
People seem to be afraid of me, but I wouldn't hurt them.
Everything and everyone needs a home.
I like my home, hope nothing ever goes wrong
1 have a lot of feathers and I think they're pretty,
But the other birds think I am gettie.
Sometime I hear the black crows,
But I am very careful when the wind blows.
Some people have birds in their homes in cages,
But they don't want us.
They think we might charge them for wages.
I'm bound to have a sister or a brother out there somewhere,
I would like to find them, and show them I do care.

Henry, The Hawk
I am Henry, just an old black hawk.
I guess I'm lucky I haven't been caught.
I go out to look for a big chicken pen,
But I want the fastest one, which is a hen.
Oh, I'm not greedy, I only take one at a time.
I sometime go out and look for worms,
And I have to be careful on every turn.
I must have been put here for a reason,
For I have to eat every season.
Most of my feathered friends are already gone,
And sometimes I feel so alone.
When people die they are put them away real nice,
But when us hawks die, they throw us to the mice.
So, please don't bother my little home,
I don't eat everyday and I get thin as a bone.
If you ever look in my eyes, you might be surprised.
I don't have a heart, or a brain,
But I know if the sun is shinning, or if it is raining.
! have feathers, but I don't have a hand.
I wish that sometime you would invite me into your kitchen,
And show me how you cook your chicken,
For I sure would love to be your friend.

CHESTER AND LESTER
We are two Crows. Our names are
Chester and Lester.
We belong to a group of Crows: Chester and me.
But for some reason we are always lagging
behind.
We try to get to our place at night in time.
Lester says I have lost a feather. Help me find
it.
Oh no, you won't need it. Hot weather is coming, don't you know
You know, Lester, we have a hard time finding
stuff to eat.
Yes Chester, and sometime we have a hard time with our feet.
Lester, you know sometimes you can act so
crazy.
And Chester sometimes you can be so lazy..
I say let's go this way you say no, go this
way,
So Chester, let's don't do any flying today.
Lester, I don't understand how I got to be your
friend.
Because, if I wasn't here to help you, you would get lost.
I do know if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have
a friend,
So Lester, try not to be so lazy, let's try to fly faster.
Chester, I can hear it thunder. It might rain.
Well, if it does rain, we will have some fresh water.
Come on now, let's try to cheer up and be
happy,
Because we will never be anything else but a dumb crow.
