Two Horses in a Red Barn

We are two little horses and we live here in
this red barn, They tell me here is where we were born. It's
supposed to be a farm, but there are only chickens and
goat-there aren't even any cows.
Sometime I tell the goats that we're going to
leave here, and they look at me as if 1 was crazy. But
sometime I feel like running away! And someday I'm going
to find a way.
This barn leaks when it rains. But it would
do me no good to complain. There are cracks in it, and I can
see daylight, And when I'm asleep I don't like for it to be
so bright.
I am mad because I need a new pair of shoes,
But do you think my master cares? I heard him say next week I
will pull a plow, But there's no way I'm going out in the
field.
I'd like to take a walk down a winding road
And ride toward the sun, and meet a mare to talk to... Or
have some children ride on my back, They aren't any children
here, and our master never rides us.
Oh lonesome me! Since I can't seem to get
through the gate, I guess I'll just here with my brother in
this little red barn.

Red, the Stubborn Mule

I'm Red, Just A Stubborn Old Mule. My Master has a plow for
me to pull.
I'm the only mule, he has a bunch of chickens.
They wake me up so early, makes me MAD as the dickens.
My Master has a garden, he plants corn. The chicken and I
sleep in the red barn.
My master doesn't care about me, He just needs me to pull the
plow, so...let me be.
He treats me like an outsider, But I am better than a mouse
or a spider.
I do have a place to go when it rains, guess I'm lucky, and I
better not complain
The chickens are my friends, But I do wish they had a chicken
pen.
I feel out of place; I am the only thing with four legs
The chicken only have two legs, but they do lay eggs.
I would like to go down to the creek where the water is
cold, But if I should slip off I would have to be awful bold,
So, I guess I'll just stay here and sleep on the hay,
Maybe things will change someday.

Daisy, The Old Brown Cow
My name is Daisy, I am just a brown cow,
I give milk twice a day, so you see I am not lazy.
My Master is good to me, but I wish the chickens were quiet.
I give plenty of milk if he feeds me good
There is a shed for me, but it leaks when it rains
And I don't like to get mud on my feet
I get to thinking I shouldn't complain,
Some cows have to stay out in the rain
The chicken pen is on the other side of this
wall
And the hens wake me up before daylight
They don't even think of me and
I can hear when the eggs when they fall
I would leave if I could, but guess
I better stay here and sleep on the hay.
The chickens have gone for a run,
So I will try to snooze while they are gone.

The Red Rooster

I am a two-year old Red Rooster,
I don't have much to do, but eat and sleep
I am in one pen, in another are some sheep
My job is to crow real loud to wake folks up
They come around to feed me and the hens
The hens job is to lay eggs,
I can't see any difference-we all have two legs
I think I am the smartest, but the hens think they are.
I never see them looking up, but I look at the stars
I amwondering if there's a Heaven for chickens,
Or do people just throw up away like a old rag?
Would you open the gate and let me know
I really have tried to be a good rooster.
