News/Updates 04/16/02 - YTV has finally finished airing all the Sailor Moon SuperS series and will now be airing repeats of Sailor Moon S (the better of the 2 series in my opinion). Also, I recently had the chance to watch the first 2 episodes of Sailor Stars in Japanese (subtitled in English) and I must say it's fantastic. If Sailor Stars does not make it's way to North American shores, it will be a real shame. Cartoon Network really needs to get Sailor Stars dubbed so they can air it (or even YTV for that matter). And speaking of Cartoon Network, Sailor Moon will return to Cartoon Networks schedule in June! It will air at 3:30pm and most likely later move to 5:30pm. Keep your eyes open for it and remember to watch! If Sailor Moon averages high ratings then Cartoon Network may seriously consider picking up Sailor Stars! And believe me it's worth it! 03/09/02 - Good news Canadian Sailor Moon Fans! YTV will be re-airing the Sailor Moon Movies again and will finally finish showing all of the Sailor Moon SS series! Details can be found below in a recent Anime Bulletin sent out by YTV. Effective February 4,2002, the schedule for Sailor Moon will be Mondays at 7:00 pm E/P, and Sundays at 2:00pm E/P. We will be airing the Sailor Moon Movies again. Sailor Moon R Movie 'The promise of a Rose' will air on Friday March 29th from 1:30 to 2:45pm E/P followed by The Sailor Moon S Movie 'Hearts on Ice' from 2:45 to 4pm E/P. Please note that all schedules are subject to change without notice. We currently hold the rights to air up to episode 159 of 'Sailor Moon' the S series. At this time we do not have plans to air acquire episodes beyond 159. The last 5 episodes of the Sailor Moon S series will start on Monday March 11th at 7pm E/P. Episode 155-159 (159 will air Monday April 8th at 7pm E/P). Please note that all schedules are subject to change without notice. 02/17/02 - Sorry for the delay in updating, the truth is there really has been nothing to report. I do have some news to catch up on however. Seems as if YTV has changed their schedule a little and Sailor Moon has moved time slots. It is now being shown, Sundays at 2:00pm and Mondays at 7:00pm. Also for those of you in the US, the original 82 episodes of Sailor Moon are being shown in syndication. The site SOS has a "Sailor Moon" U.S. Syndication chart on their site which you can see here and find out when Sailor Moon is being shown in your area. 09/28/01 - Good news for Canadian Sailor Moon fans today, YTV's Schedule and commercials ALL 3 Sailor Moon movies will air on YTV, October 8th (Canadian Thanksgiving)! The first movie, "Sailor Moon R: The Promise of the Rose" will start things off at 2:00pm E/PT, followed by "Sailor Moon S: Hearts of Ice" at 3:00pm and concluded with "Sailor Moon SuperS: Black Dream Hole" at 4:00pm. So the entire Sailor Moon special will finish at around 5:00pm followed by 2 new Pokemon episodes. As mentioned below I've seen the first movie in Japanese and it's pretty good. I personally like the second movie best, I've seen the dubbed version of it and it was done well. Of course it's Pioneer who produces the movies (DIC style dub) so it's the original Sailor Moon English voices and American style music you'll be hearing. You can't win them all. Also SOS realeased the dates of when the other 2 Sailor Moon Movies will air on Cartoon Network. On Friday, November 9th, at 5:30pm the Sailor Moon S movie will air and on Friday, November 16th, at 5:30pm the Sailor Moon SuperS movie will air. 09/23/01 - With the Kids'WB run of Sailor Moon over and YTV only showing Sailor Moon 3 times a week there has not been much news for Sailor Moon fans until today. Cartoon Network has brought back their Toonami Movies and has scheduled the first 3 movies. The movies will be shown on Fridays at 5:30pm (or 6:00pm) following episodes of ReBoot. The first movie will be Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone on Friday, October 19th at 6:00pm. The next movie will be Batman and Mr. Freeze: Subzero on October, 26th at 5:30pm and on Friday, November 2nd, at 5:30pm the movie Sailor Moon R: Promise of the Rose will air! I've seen this movie in it's original Japanese format and it's pretty good, it's like an extra long episode. Of course CN will show the dubbed version of this movie which I haven't seen yet but it will likely be the DIC dubbed version since the rest of the movies (which I have seen dubbed) are the DIC versions. This means you can expect to hear the original Sailor Moon voices and not the Sailor Moon S or SuperS voices. But this also means that the old music is back, and the movie is probably edited a little bit more than it should. But it's ok, as long as they are showing it, I'm happy and I'm sure all Sailor Moon fans are happy too. For more information check out the new Cartoon & Anime News page. 09/10/01 - As expected YTV did change their Sailor Moon schedule and left Canadian viewers with only 4 more episodes of Sailor Moon SuperS to see. The Saturday 4:30pm E/PT time slot is the closest to airing these 4 episodes since it left off from where the old Saturday 3:30pm timeslot. So expect to see the episode "Dreams of her own" (eps.145) this Saturday at 4:30pm. And as for those remaining 4 episodes of Sailor Moon SuperS that YTV has yet to show, you can catch them starting Saturday, December 1st at 4:30pm, providing YTV keeps the schedule the way it is. Other Sailor Moon times for YTV can be found at the bottom of this page. 09/04/01 - I know I've been back and forth on this one for a while but I think I finally found out the truth. After phoning Kids'WB today they told me that Sailor Moon would be on until September 14th! The reason for the mix up is simple. Originally Kids'WB was going to start their weekday fall line-up September 10th which is why The Cardcaptors Zone 2001 reported that Cardcaptors would be on at 3:00pm starting September 10th but Kids'WB pushed back their launch of the weekday fall schedule to September 17th. So there will be one more week of Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors will start the week after. I apologize for the mix up and would like to say that the reports on SOS and Anime News were in fact correct, although I should mention Anime News had the news first (which came from Toonzone), this seems a little odd since SOS is usually quicker with the Sailor Moon news. But SOS has a good article about it that you can read it here. Also I encourage fans to write to Kids'WB and/or phone Kids'WB at (818) 977-6056 and let them know how much like seeing Sailor Moon on the station and tell them you want to see it on everyday! As for Canadians, all is well with YTV continuing to show new episodes of Sailor Moon weekdays at 12:00pm but this will change soon (and yes I am sure of it). It looks like YTV will end their 12:00pm airing of Sailor Moon on Friday, September 7th, only 4 episodes before the series Sailor Moon SuperS is complete. However YTV is keeping the show on Saturdays but is moving the time to 4:30pm on September 15th. But they are expected to continue showing Sailor Moon SuperS but since it's a weekly airing of the show expect the series to end sometime in December. Also SOS reports that YTV has picked up all 3 Sailor Moon movies and plan to air them sometime in October. I'll check with them to see if they've set a date. 09/01/01
- Previous reports from SOS
and Anime
News
saying that Sailor Moon will be on Kids'WB
for 2 weeks has proven to be incorrect. This news comes after the Cardcaptors
Zone 2001 discovered that Cardcaptors will be airing on Kids'WB
weekdays at 3:00pm starting Monday, September 10th, the same timeslot
that Sailor Moon occupying the week of September 3rd. And I'm sorry
to report that according to TV schedules all around the net there is
nothing to suggest that Sailor Moon will be returning any time soon
to US airways after Friday, September 7th. Just to run down what the
Kids'WB
airing of Sailor Moon will look like the episodes are as followed: 08/28/01 - According to the news ticker on SOS, Sailor Moon will in fact be on Kids'WB for 2 weeks! So remember starting Monday, September 3rd, (this coming Monday), Sailor Moon will be on Kids'WB weekdays at 3:00pm E/PT until Friday, September 14th. While it looks like they are airing Sailor Moon to be nothing more than a summer show filler to give a break to the everyday repeats of Pokemon and Batman Beyond, this airing of Sailor Moon on Kids'WB may lead to big things, so please be sure to watch. Also Sailor Moon on Kids'WB may also be the result of the big demand to bring Sailor Moon back on the air to the Cartoon Network, but since Toonami's lineup is somewhat full they may have decided to give fans a treat and air Sailor Moon on Kids'WB for awhile. Even if you've already seen these episodes, watch them again, and once they start airing the episodes write to Kids'WB and tell them how much you like seeing Sailor Moon on their network. This is so the WB will know just how popular Sailor Moon is and it may convince them to order new episode. Moving on to site news, I've updated the Links page today, cleaned up the broken links and added a new link, Michael's Sailor Moon Images, check it out! 08/24/01
- Fans in the USA will be happy to hear that Kids'WB
will be airing at least one week of Sailor Moon episodes during their
weekday afternoon Toonami run. According to the schedule on Toonzone,
starting on Monday, September 3rd, Kids'WB
will air Sailor Moon at 3:00pm E/PT. Yes it's true, although Kids'WB
hasn't mentioned anything on the air as of yet it is likely it will
happen since they did it with Dragon Ball Z. Now of course these episodes
will be repeats (all from Sailor Moon S it seems) but repeats are better
than nothing. The schedule on Toonzone
only has one week of Sailor Moon listed, so it is not known if there
will be additional weeks of Sailor Moon on Kids'WB
since the schedule ends September 8th. But there are 2 reasons that
there could be 1 additional week of Sailor Moon episodes airing on Kids'WB.
The first reason is the fact that Dragon Ball Z aired for 2 weeks on
Kids'WB
toonami so why not Sailor Moon too? The other reason is the Anime
News says that Toonzone reported
Kids'WB
will air Sailor Moon for 2 weeks! Although I cannot find that information
anywhere on Toonzone, so I'm not sure where Anime
News picked that up from. But 1 week is for sure, this will help
with the Sailor Moon withdraws all the US fans are going through. As
for us Canadians, YTV
is still showing new (new for Canadian's that is) Sailor Moon SuperS
episodes which are airing Monday to Friday at 12:00pm and repeating
Saturday at 3:30pm. TV Schedule - YTV is now showing Sailor Moon Weekdays at 3:00 and Mondays at 7:00pm. - Cartoon Network is no longer showing Sailor Moon. It will return to CN schedule August 5th at 3:30pm! - Kids'WB! is no longer showing Sailor Moon S. It's 2 week run of the series finished Friday, September 14th 2001.
