Praise Reports

Our Family, waiting for little Carlee to join us!

May 2001:  The following message came today from our adoption agency:

"Dear Families,
I am forwarding on a message from S.O.F.O.S.H.-PUNE:
Dear Ones,
Namaskar!
After a lot of gap we have some good news. Now we have new Judge from 27th April'2001 in the Family Court of Pune and as there are 80 cases pending approx. these cases will be over by June end and that why hearing will be every Friday and Saturday. Hope henceforth nobody has to suffer. Thank you for being patience with S.O.F.O.S.H."

It looks like this is the window of opportunity for our paperwork to leave for Pune.  We wanted to see things happen last fall and then again this spring, but both times we would have been rejected by uncooperative judges.  The Lord is good!  He keeps us steady in the palm of His hand.  The sponsorship issue appears to be settled.  Praise the Lord!  This is all very good news.

April 2001:  Each week we have tried to begin or finish something concerning the adoption.   We have mailed our Power of Attorney to S.A.I. for them to forward to India.  For weeks we have been trying to connect with the INS officer who approved us for the adoption in August of 2000.  Finally--we spoke with her yesterday and she cleared up some technical issues with us that our agency had been
concerned about.

We talked with an E. Indian pediatrician in our area and she has been very good to offer free medical care for Carlee upon her arrival!  Praise the Lord!  Also, she speaks Carlee's language.  This is a big Praise the Lord! He is still handling all the details.

April 28, 2001:  Praise the Lord!!!  First--there is a new, new judge in Pune!!!  Our adoption agency is very encouraged!  This could mean all the difference in the world to a lot of children.

Second--$50 has been donated to the Carlee Fund from very special friends!
Thank you!

March 2001:  Though things are not going well with the new judge, as we had hoped, communication with S.O.F.O.S.H. is good and they are encouraging us to press on.  We praise the Lord for the support of good friends in adoption.  We wanted to share with you part of a letter from Jery Good, who established Carlee's web page.  This word from her encouraged us a lot!

(Randy and Ann,)
"When we were trying to adopt (our daughter) Lia from China, the government decided she was non special needs when we were required to accept special needs.  We had tried to find a special needs child, and would never have asked for her if we had thought she was non special needs.  Her special need just faded, or was not real in the first place, we don't know.  Anyway, the law was the law, and they asked us to take a different girl in her place.  We told them we'd wait for her forever if needed, because she was the one we
were supposed to take.  In 6 months, the law changed and we were able to have (our daughter)!  I believe our prayers, and those of unknown others, changed the hearts of the Chinese officials, and made them change a law that was really working fine.  Prayer can change the hearts of even the ungodly.  Don't give up."

February 2001:  We received new pictures of Carlee!  She is standing with support now. Praise the Lord!

January 2001:  Two twenty-five dollar gifts have arrived to the Carlee Fund!  Praise the Lord for his goodness!  We praise the Lord for continued funds that have flowed through to us encouraging us in the adoption of Carlee:  Perhaps many children will be processed now that a new judge is replacing the old one in Pune this month.

In December we received a $500 gift from friends in Texas whom we have not seen in over 20 years!  We are so appreciative to God for this offering.  It gave us strong encouragement at a time when we were feeling low.

Another $25 dollar gift was received in December from a family in GA.  This family has been so faithful to Carlee.  Thank you!

November 2000:  Our agency visited the orphanage in Pune region this month and saw Carlee!  But, things are difficult with the judge.

Thank you to the many professionals who wrote letters on our behalf to our agency.  You gave us credibility at a crucial time.  Our sincere thanks.

We received a $20.00 donation to the Carlee Fund in mid-November from dear friends in Georgia!  Thank you so much.  We know that your intention in giving was to encourage us and we know that the gift was a sacrifice for you at this time in your lives.  We love you and appreciate your loving hearts!  Caleb would not be here if not for your faithful giving and now Carlee will be touched by your giving.

We received a $50.00 donation this week from dear friends in North Louisiana.   You, too, helped to bring Caleb home and now you are planting precious seed into Carlee's life.  (How many times have you come to our rescue now??)  Thank you so much!  How can we fail when we have the love and prayer support of friends like you?  We love you so much.

A friend sent us the following this week:  She said, "Remember from the Proverbs that "The name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run in to it." Continue to run to Him as your safety net, comfort, and strength."   Thank you, Amy.  God has blessed so much through your words of encouragement.  We're running straight for His arms of love and staying there!

A special thanks to Paul and Leesa Wallace for their unwavering support.

And, a special thanks to Dave and Dawn Rogers--I couldn't go through adoption without you!

There are so many we want to say thank you to we are afraid that we will leave someone out.  It wouldn't be intentional.  We want to thank partners in prayer, those who wrote letters, and those who love and support us with prayer:  Thank you Gary and Debbie Richardson of Shreveport, LA,  John and Helen Valdez of Austin, TX, Carol and Fred Kuntz of Atlanta, GA,  Ron and Stacy Smith of Atlanta, GA, Kara and Mike Taylor of Spearsville, LA, Belinda and Richard Burns of Juneau, AK, Sherry and Steve Patton of Bossier City, LA, Carlos and Cassie McDaniel of Shreveport, LA, Don and Rita Folds of Shreveport, LA, Randy and Cheryl Peterson of Gainsville Georgia, Donna Cates of Stonewall, LA, Charlotte and Joe Hanson of Shreveport, LA, Erwin and Gayle Hearne of Shreveport, LA, Bud, Sue, and Kristen Wood of Springdale, AR, Bob and Leslie Alden of Bossier City, LA, Mark and Judy Troutz of Little Rock, AR, Major and Jennifer Fant of Belcher, LA, Varnel and Martha Jane Giddens of Belcher, LA, Ron and Linda Marcum of Harrison, AR, Terry Trawnick with the Schumpert Eye Clinic, Suzanne Gullet with Schumpert Kid's Clinic, Mark and Susan Young of Bossier City, LA, Janet Teitsort of Indiana, Tim and Theresa Martin of New Mexico, Grace Smith of Shreveport, LA,  Amber Touchstone of Haughton, LA, Betty and Joe Faust of Belcher, LA,  John and Lisa McLean of Shreveport, LA, Ray and Amy Vining of Shreveport, LA, Mike and Paula Miller of Mountain View, CA, Gary and Carol Gray of California, Gautam and Linda Roy of Ft. October 28, 2000:  The home study was received by our agency today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Praise the Lord -- Praise the Lord! After waiting nearly five months our social worker finally completed his update this morning.

September 2000:  It is necessary for India that we have guardians for Carlee who are under the age of forty. These people would be responsible to rear Carlee in the event of our deaths. We have had a wonderful family offer to do this for Carlee! Praise the Lord! We are so thankful that God is taking care of all the details of this adoption.

August 2000:  Something unheard of in adoption circles has happened! We still do not have our updated home study from our social worker, but INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) called at ten in the evening one night this week and asked to interview us in Shreveport for the I600A. We explained that we did not have our home study, but they were willing to do the interview based on Caleb's home study that is still current. This means we did not have to travel to New Orleans! We met with them the next morning and they approved us!!! All INS fees are paid because of the generous donations to the Carlee Fund back in April and May. (This would be like the IRS personally calling you and asking to meet with you the next day to personally hand you your refund! It is a miracle!)

July 2000:  We are blessed to have a doctor in our area offer his services to do our physicals for the adoption free of charge. This includes a lot of paper work! We are so thankful to him and to his family for his sacrifice of time!  We received an update on Carlee's height and weight. She is now 20 lbs. and 31 inches long. This is about the size of an eighteen month old. This is wonderful news since we have not had a current picture or information since March. We have requested a new picture.

June 2000:  Against the odds, our social worker with Caleb agreed to make time to do the update to our home study. He is a very busy man, but we are so blessed that he is willing to do it!

May 2000:  A check arrived to the Carlee Fund this month from the Berry family in PA. They are friends of the family that went to Carlee's orphanage and brought their daughter, Rubi, home.

The following letter came from a family to encourage us: "Thank you so much for sharing your e-mails with us regarding Caleb and Carlee.  You and they are certainly in our prayers. I had such an overwhelming confirmation in my spirit this morning about Carlee. I'm always a little afraid to share these "feelings" with people thinking it might be from myself or just an emotion, but I believe Carlee will be in the McCauley family very soon!

April 2000:  On April 7th our adoption agency had the selection meeting and we were officially selected as Carlee's family. We learned this wonderful news on Monday April 10th.

The same day we were selected for Carlee a check came from a family we have never met for $1000 dollars. It turns out that this family
had been praying for a place to plant this money for God at the same time the Caleb Club Newsletter came in March updating them on Caleb and telling them about Madhura. Isn't God awesome!? We are so overwhelmed at His goodness! Two scriptures were enclosed with that last check. One was, "We should make plans-counting on God to direct us." Proverbs 16:9  and the other was, "The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results." James 5:16. We are so blessed!

The day before the selection meeting a couple near Fort Worth, Texas (who had never heard of us) called our agency. They went to India to Carlee's orphanage to adopt a baby last year in February. They brought home a little girl named Rubi. Anyway, this family called not knowing that Madhura had a family. They did not want to adopt her, but wanted to know that when Madhura did get a family they desired to help that family with medical needs. We made contact with this family They are very nice people who sincerely desire to help
children. God is so faithful! This family had called the ocularist in their local area to find out what was involved in getting prosthetic
eyes for Madhura. It turns out that their ocularist (Randy Trawnick) is a brother to our ocularist, Terry Trawnick!

March 2000:  Before we call the Lord answers! Before we had a chance to tell anyone that Carlee had been unofficially selected for our family two checks had been sent to the Carlee Fund in c/o Pastor Paul Wallace. The first check came from a family who will leave for a medical missions trip to Bangalore, India on Carlee's 2nd Birthday! The check came on April 8th and was for $750 dollars! It is enough money to pay Carlee's application fee, INS fees, and our fingerprinting.
