It's been a pretty hectic week. Work-wise at least. Seems like half the office is either on vacation or quit. (It was Katie's last day on the 5th, pout) Leaving us shrinking numbers to make up the slack. Which of course doesn't make me all that happy. I'm much happier being at home. I guess then, who's not? It just seems to suck the life right out of me working these long hours. I know it I'm a big weenie, but I just feel so drained right now. Perhaps a weeks worth of sleep would help =) Oh well I'm told it's gonna get worse before it gets better. Ugh, now there's a thrilling thought. Besides all that I did make sometime to have fun this week. I had Katie over one evening for dinner and a movie. We got take-out from the Thai House.....yummy. Ever since we went there I've been totally craving their peanut chicken dish. So that's what I had....yes, again =) But I did order their BBQ chicken for Shawn cause I really wanted to try that too....lol. We watched The Green Mile. A movie I knew nothing about except that it had Tom Hanks in it. And that it had been up for some awards. Even with the little knowledge that I had it was nothing like I expected. I guess I've really never seen anything like it. I of course was crying by the end of it, and in the middle, and at the beginning.....lol, ok not in the beginning. But still, arn't I an over-emotional girl. =) NOT! those who know me, know better.....lol. But I'll admitt I do let myself get swept away by the storylines in a good movie. I think this was one. So go watch it if you haven't yet. I also had the fourth off. Lucky me the banks are all closed that day....lol For it was one of the most beautiful days we've had all summer. It's been so smokey and gross with all the forest fires everywhere. It's like living in a never ending fog. All weekend long I had been hoping against hope for a smoke free 4th of July. Even threatened the sky acouple of times =) And to my great surprise, it was an absolutely gorgeous day. First smoke free, blue sky one we've had in like a month. A day that will have to live in my heart for while. Since the next day it was right back to the same ol' smoke and gloom. Anyways, we ended up going to one of Shawns good friends, Dan's house ( Hi Dan =P ) for a BBQ. They had just bought a new home and there's nothing like a backyard party to break it in right =) Besides the fact there were alot of people there I didn't know (ok so I'm a little phobic) it was fun. We ate the yummy 4th of July food, played the 4th of July games as we did when we were little. Hurt my wrist playing volleyball, you know, the good ol' american stuff =). Mainly it was just wonderful sitting out on their deck soaking up the sunshine. Surrounded by good friends and good people. Being in their new home made my more impatient for my own. "Someday", keeps wistfully running through my head......... someday
