Well we got a kittie. Went and adopted one from the pound on Thursday. He's a big fluffy one year old Maine Coon. Which makes me happy. One of my neighbors as a child had one and it was the sweetiest kittie. This one seems to be the same way. It took us a couple of days to deside apon a name. At first the name Romeo came up, but that didn't quite fit. Reguardless of how much a little lover he is. Then we went through a bunch of cow-ish names. He's black and white and has cow like spots along his sides. Would figure I'd pick out a cat that looks like a cow. I have a thing for them (Shawn says it's a girl thing...lol) My kitchen is all decked out in them. (Don't roll your eyes, it's done tastefully) So anyways, we went through every breed of cow I could think of and then started on cowboy names. Like Rex, Tex, ect Then through famous cowboy names like Clint, Eastwood, G.Audrey, J.Wayne. Of course the standard cartoon cat names came out, like Garfield, Sylvester, Felix......ugh =P My friend Matt suggested Hobbes, but since that's his nickname for me I didn't wanna share....lol. Anyways I was about to give up and just call him Kittie since that's what the babies call him anyways. When I remembered that one of Laurens favorite cartoons has a black male and white female cat. I knew the girl cats name was Luna so I asked her what the males cat name was. It was Artemis, (neat name) which Shawn and Lauren both jumped at. We went and looked it up in the baby name book. The name Artemis comes from greek mythology, originally a goddess of hunting, now a masculine and a feminine. It fits him too, especially since he spends his afternoons on great bug safaris on the window sills. It's just so nice to have a cat again. He sleeps at the foot of Shawn and I's bed at night (which I love) and on the mat in the bathroom floor (which I don't quite get) during the day. As soon as I get some pics taken I'll post them on my site. Ok strike that, as soon as I find my stupid start up disc for my scanner and get it up and working again, I'll scan the pics and post them. I CAN NOT for the life of me find that disc. I've been looking oh forever now. I did however in my search find the one for the printer. So I finally got my printer up and running again. Not that that helps any one of you out in cyberspace who has been on my butt to update my site. But it does make me happy on this end. Our newest computer adventure has been trying to set a network between the two computers. So far no luck the ethernet on the other computer is not recognizing the one we installed into this one. Ho-humm I guess it's off to the experts on this one. I'm excited about this for several reasons. 1. Shawn and I will no longer have to fight over internet time.......lol 2. We'll be able to play computer games against each other. I can't wait to kick his butt at Warcraft. And 3. I can get a webcam for the other computer is able to support one =) perhaps even two since it will be hooked up to this one. Of course that's getting ahead of myself, but it gives me something to look forward to......and what is life without that =) |
