I've been trying to make it a point to go on a walk as often as possible. After my last enrty I desided I was tired of missing the summer. It's to pretty outside, regardless of the killer skeeters =) So far it's been slow going. Karla and I went on one earlier this week. We took her little rugrats with us. It was nice for two reasons. One just being outside and of course two, Karla and I hardly ever see each other. That fact still amazes me. For like 8-9 years the two of us were insuperable, bestfriends. We went on vacations together, shared an apartment.Then we both ran off and got married. I can now count the times we've vistited each other this year on one hand. Ugh so sad. I could go on about this, but I'm not going to right now. Mainly because I'm as much to blame as she. =( I never call, I never write.....eesh.
Anyways, I've only gone on one more walk since then. That was with Lauren, but we didn't get very far. The trails around the house are still really muddy. You'd think with all this sun it would be dried by now. Instead there's tons on standing water, must be where all them blood suckers are coming from =) I tried to get Shawn to come with us but he is decidedly anti-walks. Unless we are on bikes or rollerblades he's not interested. I'm thinking it has something to do with the speed. I don't know or pretend to understand, but whatever. The big weenie, he can just stay at home then.
I think going for walks is so peaceful in a way. It's just me and my thoughts. Kinda nice to get in touch with your inner self every once in awhile. Just to see what it's got to say. While rollerblading all my inner self has to say is "don't fall on your ass". Not quite as peaceful =) I'm learning though. It seems I have to re-learn how to rollerblade every season. Nothing at all like riding a bike. At least not for me. It's actually pretty sad. Shawn being a sweetie however, bought me elbow, knee and wrist guards. He knows my fear of falling....lol All I can say is if I didn't look silly before. I definitly do now =) Oh well, it's all in good fun. And I'm guessing at this rait I'll be good by the time the snowfalls........lol
Then it's back to the drawing board for me
