The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not routinely heard on shortwave. I heard-and QSLed-them on their 11m feeder on 26190 KHz. They IDed as KSL, and the QSL was printed as KSL 1160. The feeder calls are KOH710 (thanks, Glenn).
Bonneville Communications is the parent company of these stations, and is owned by the church. They carry addresses by church leaders. They also carry Music and the Spoken Word, which features the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Program schedules can also be found at Bonneville Info.
Here are the best bets for Michiganders to hear the Mormons:
Radio Santec is the outreach ministry of Universal Life. They can be heard:
The parent organization is Universal Life, founded by Gabrielle Wittek, who claims to channel messages from her deceased mother.
There are several groups within this movement. The founders of this movement, Guy and Edna Ballard, had a radio program in the 1940s. Followers of this movement believe that certain teachers, including Jesus and Buddha, are guiding people with their wisdom today. They call these teachers the Ascended Masters and revere all of them, not just one. The most famous group in this movement is the Church Universal and Triumphant, run by Elizabeth Clare Prophet. Her publishing house is called The Summit Lighthouse. She explains the Masters well on that site.
Reruns of this program can be heard on WWRB. They're a piece of American religious history.
Dr. Gene Scott can still be heard although he died a few years ago. More and more you can hear Melissa Scott, his widow. She has a colorful past as a former porn star.
