Evangelicalism

The word evangelical describes anyone who believes in evangelization but is in practice limited to born-again Christians. They usually cooperate with other groups, unlike many fundamentalists, who are usually, although not necessarily, Baptist.


Evangelical Stations in Michigan

Here is a list of the more popular evangelical stations in Metro Detroit. Michiguide has complete listings for all radio and TV stations in Michigan, NW Ohio, and SW Ontario. WRDT, WEXL, and WMUZ are owned by the same company.


Cowboy Churches

WWCR sponsors three cowboy church programs. Most of the programming is music, with a little preaching and testimony here and there. They play music by famous country stars such as Brooks and Dunn that isn't often heard on mainstream country stations.

Two of the churches have websites. They are the Nashville Cowboy Church and the Smoky Mountain Cowboy Church.


Other Non-denominational Groups

Joni Earikson Tada has a short program on WWCR. She is a disabled woman who ministers to others with disabilities.


The great Pat Boone chats it up on shortwave. He plays contemporary Christian music interspersed with inspirational thoughts.


Focus on the Family is hosted by Dr. James Dobson.


Unshackled is a famous program sponsored by the Pacific Garden Mission in California, now in Chicago.


KTBN is run by evangelicals who like the prosperity gospel. They broadcast famous preachers like Jack Van Impe and Joel Osteen, but their program sked is not easy to navigate, something religious stations seem to be prone to. Their site only lists their TV sked.
