One problem I have when I'm doing these reviews is that the movies I want to do are so obscure that I cannot find any graphics to put with the review. And since I know we all have been programmed to like big shiny things, I hesitate to do a review if I don't even have a cover scan to put with it.
I have this big stack of terrible movies I want to review here but after a couple hours of searching online and through old Fango and other movie mags and books for pics, I usually give up.
And such was the case today. Except, since I haven't done a review for a month, I had to do something. So I did the old paper bag on the head and spin trick and pointed to the movie shelves and took the closest movie that I knew I could get pics for that would be a good WORST OF THE WORST. Sure enough, every time I watch this flick (which hasn't been many), I think to myself, "Self, I should do a WORST OF THE WORST review on this cause it is really bad."
So here it is:
ZOMBIE TOXIN
Now as far as Zombie Flix go, this one is right up there, or should I say down there, with Andreas Schnass's ZOMBIE 90. The cover says "It's Monty Python meets Dawn of the Dead"...well I don't know about that!?!? Ok, so it has a couple British guys in it playing a bunch of different roles and some Zombies, but that don't make it Monty Python or Dawn of the Dead...not by a long shot!!
Ok, then CHIM, what's it all about then??
Well plotwise, the first time I saw this, I wasn't sure there even was one. But after a second viewing, I paid more attention (and I read the back of the box), and it seems this Satanic hooded executioner needs a horse for a sacrifice. He hires these two goofs, Mr. Nasty and his idiot sidekick Benny. These two end up releasing a toxin into a stream that produces flesh-eating zombies with diarrhea. This is witnessed by a Adolf Hitler wanna-be, who decides he is gonna create an army of Zombies for world domination (a la Hardrock Zombies) with this toxin. Unfortunately, the toxin as has a rather strange effect on bottles, and when Adolf tries bottling it, the bottles attack...
...and yes!!! It is retarded as it sounds!!!
If you think retarded is funny, then I guess you can consider this humorous. But mostly its just one gross out effect after another. Lots of gore and puking and Zombie
diarrhea, all in the tradition of Andreas Schnass or Peter Jackson. The acting is a good as you can expect if you make a movie with a bunch of your friends I guess.
