Cananean jar

Date: Recent Bronze, 13th B.C..
General description: Storage jar well made of heavy reddish brown ware. Overall dimensions, vertical 60 cm., horizontal 40 cm., thickness of its walls, 1.5 cm..
Detailed description:
- -Neck: narrow cylindrical neck, 3 cm. high and 10 cm. of diameter. Opening 7 cm. of diameter.
- -Shoulders: 15 cm. and slightly sloped, angular and carinated.
- -Body: conical, slightly concave on its upper part, then convex on the lower part.
- -Handles: two handles at sides, high on the body. Vertical dimension 13 cm. , horizontal dimension 5 cm.. The handles are 2 cm. thick.
Note: The angular shoulders and the handles are similar to:
- Jars found in Ugarit (Ras Shamra-Syria).Jar found in Mycenae (Greece).
The handles look like the ones represented on:
- Wall painting found in Egypt.
